Sooty Snow was given the Lunar Tear Necklace after Elks Bugle had a dream that implied it was to be his.

She was walking through a snowstorm in a burned forest, between charred trees when she came across a wolf spirit who tossed the necklace into the soot covered snow in front of the Alpha. When she woke up she had the necklace in her jaws.
She later reassigned Sooty Snow to be an Herbalist and gave the necklace to him.

He recently had a vision after sleeping under a Strawberry Moon after having drank a sleeping tonic, Sooty entered a dream where he stood on the edge of a rock slide that'd been long overgrown. Greenery had taken over the landscape. A strange wolf spirit snatched the necklace from Sooty and ran gracefully from each green covered stone to another until it sat on a large moss covered stone boulder.
Sooty ran after it until he reached the stone and wolf placed the necklace on top of the mossy stone before jumping behind the great boulder and out of sight. Sooty woke up shortly after the spirit wolf disappeared and after discussing the vision with Elk, it was determined that the ancient wolves wanted Mossy Stones to become the next Herbalist. Thus Elk pulled the young puppy Mossy out of regular pup training to begin his training as Sooty's Apprentice!

As the Buck Supermoon rose, the Dreamland plane opened up to it's earthly visitors. With help from a pair of Cnitharian Wolves, Elks Bugle was given gifts to distribute to her packmates. One set of these items she gave to Sooty Snow; Lunar Orb Bracelets, Anklets, and Tailband to adorn his pale, almost ghostly fur.
"The shoppe keepers told me these are seen as blessed gifts for skilled paws. They often give their most important packmates these decorations as a sign of goodwill," Elk pushed the wrapped gifts toward Sooty.
"Without you, many of us would be terribly sick or even dead. I look forward to seeing you expand our medicine hoard, and the medicines you'll learn to make."

During Year 2 on July 23rd (2022) - Sooty Snow was sorting herbs when he heard the soft patter of paws on stone approaching the large cliff-face den. Turning around he saw Mossy Stones, his former Apprentice, standing in the entrance looking terribly uncomfortable and tired, blood stains were dried around his mouth. Thankfully it didn't smell of his own blood.
"Mossy Stones, you poor thing, come lay down in a nest. I'll get you some water." He spoke coolly, and the young wolf did as he was asked.
"I'll feeling terribly itchy, I almost want to rip my fur off from how irritating my skin and fur have been," Mossy began to explain. "What can you do to help me?"
Trotting back over with a piece of Cedar Bark with water in it, Sooty thought for a moment, looked closely at the grey wolf's fur and sighed.
"Ticks; Nasty creatures." He trotted back over to a shale slate with a few premade medicines on it and grabbed one.
"Don't worry, it's an easy fix and you'll be back to your usual in no time."
Mossy Stones seemed to physically relax at his words and nodded, proceeding to lay down more comfortably as Soot Snow began his work.
