Vern

"Hey... What're you doing here?"

A gruff voice sounds out from behind you. When you turn around, you see this red-furred wolf staring at you with his head tilted to one side. The shapes of his shoulders, chest, and snout are reminiscent of the leader's mate, Ambrose. 

Vern and his half-sister Blythe arrived in the Shenandoah Pack's territory together. They hail from the same birth pack as Ambrose, who shares the same father as both of them. According to Vern, their old pack has fallen on hard times, and tensions are running high as a result.

Since integrating into the Shenandoah Pack, Vern has become a loyal member, much beloved by the other wolves his age. While he assists with hunting from time to time, his primary function is that of a border guard. He convinced Tanana and Ambrose that it was necessary to keep their territory secure with a dedicated band of protectors. While Tanana was originally hesitant due to the image of mistrust that such a force might project, she eventually agreed. And so, Vern gained a certain level of authority in the pack. 

Determined to prove himself worthy of Tanana and Ambrose's trust, Vern has tried his hardest to judge trespassers fairly and with kindness, even if he remains suspicious of each and every one. He has yet to resort to violence against those who enter the territory without permission, much to Tanana's relief.
