Hermes - the god of thieves, yes, but also the god of boundaries and travel. He is the messenger of the gods, and known to be fast and efficient. He lives in the underworld with the others. It is said that he guides souls at night to the underworld, where they are to be judged.
In this pack, Hermes is indeed the one who leads souls to the underworld, however he does so because it is their home. He carries with him a torch to light the way, and the symbol of the high lord Hades to allow them passage back into the underworld. He takes any new souls to the judges to determine their fate.
Right now, he is a young wolf indeed - which is often surprising to new members when they learn of his identity. But he does his job well, and he has the mind of the old god. This body is only temporary, after all.
He does not sleep in the underworld every night, sometimes he spends part of the day with the Oneroi protecting the area.
