↠ soft-spoken but will take others' pups on a walk through the forest whether they like it or not, in the interest of "broadening young horizons". hey, nobody's children have died under her watch yet!

"That sounds like quite the burden," says Kihja, cautiously leaning closer to analyse the darkness of Laica's eyes. "How do you know that the stars have your best interest in mind? What if they lead you astray?"
Laica shrugs half-heartedly, "They never have before, and so long as they lead me to new places, they never will."
Pheonix screws up her nose, eyeing Laica warily. "I'd hate to be rude, Laica, but you're quite the anomaly. A bit scary-looking, you are."
"You wouldn't be the first to say so, love," She stands and the light waning from the twilight sky catches her pelt; the elegant purples twisting in the pigment of her fur look more vivid here, and Pheonix and Kihja find themselves staring. It's no surprise to see wolves with such colourful appearances -- Kihja herself is an oddity, after all -- but still, it makes them stare.
"I've never been one to settle down," says Laica over her shoulder as though she isn't drawing everyone's eye. "There will never be enough strange lands for me to cast my eyes upon. But... maybe, for once, I've found somewhere to stay. I feel at home here."
Hickory yawns, lifting her head up from where she'd been hiding it in the grass behind Pheonix. "You're plenty welcome here, Laica. You should stay."
Laica smiles softly at the three of them and glances up at the sky. The stars twinkle into view slowly with the retreat of the sun, and she can see the beginnings of a trail forming overhead, but she turns away. Being at Greyhide feels right in a way no other new -- even if beautiful -- place has ever felt.
Throwing one last amiable glance at the others, she says, "I think I will."
