Name: Deyra (day-rah)
Background: Deyra didn't intend to leave her birth pack - in fact it was acting in service to her family that permanently separated her from it. Young and eager to help out, Deyra decided to try to hunt for the first time on her own - long before she was truly ready. She had simply wanted to provide for her pack, but instead became hopelessly disoriented while struggling to follow a myriad of intertwining scent trails. Being naturally swift, but not terribly wise, she covered so much ground that before she knew it she had lost sight of all familiar landmarks and scents - ending up high in the mountains.
Personality: Dutiful to a fault, Deyra is an extremely committed individual. She pursues everything with dedication and perseverance. Less reliable characters are regarded with disgust and resentment, and she is quick to show her disapproval of them. Large, strong, and fast, Deyra is not easily intimidated or shaken. A bit of a brute, she is easily outwitted by more calculating and intelligent wolves. She sees most things in terms of simple black and white and doesnt think too hard about anything.
Log:
Year 1, Autumn
- Deyra runs into Kronor after a hunt, having blindly crossed into his new territory. Kronor is stunned that the 8 month old has managed to chase down, exhaust, and kill a small deer all by herself. However, Deyra quickly explains that it is a hollow victory as she is completely and hopelessly lost and has been for a while - with no hope of getting the food to her pack. Kronor, taken with her dedication and strength, pardons her and offers to let her join him and Araya as the third member in their new pack. Deyra is torn at first, but realizes that there is likely no chance of locating her old family, and agrees - swearing to serve her new pack until her last breath.
- Deyra and Kronor become natural companions due to their similar personalities. He begins to rely on her to keep the other adolescents in check. Deyra gets along well enough with the rest of the pack, except for Ronal - who's selfish arrogance and superior intellect irritates her - and Lirileth - who's Aloofness seems to her like a disregard for her packmates. Young Beren and Enna however become closely attached to her, and Deyra becomes like an older sister to them.
Year 1, Winter
- Deyra begins actively hunting alongside Araya, now that Enna has become old enough to be left on her own with the other adolescents. Deyra immediately impresses the older wolf with her speed and stamina, but finds Araya's anxiety often gets in the way of their success.
Year 1, Spring
- Serana begins to join Deyra on the hunt after Araya becomes Denmother, and the two find that they work very well together, and have similar strength of ability.
