Shikanori

The youngest of the twins, Shikanori was quite the surprise as Kaiyo and Eylia had only been expecting a litter of one. He was the reason why the pair ultimately decided to stay where they did, since traveling with two pups would have been too dangerous. As he grew up, he began to notice how others seemed to treat him differently than his brother, even though they looked and sounded nearly the same. While Kangae was showered with praise and attention, Shikanori had to work twice as hard to receive a fraction of acknowledgement. Despite their reassurances, Shikanori grew to feel out of place amongst the rest of his family, opting instead to wander the outskirts of the territory by himself. It was during one of these outings that he met Rose Water. The two became friends quickly, bonding over their shared feelings of being outcast. However, they began to drift apart after Rose Water completed her training first and could no longer spend as much time with Shikanori. Despite this, they still found ways to meet up, and as soon as Shikanori graduated as well, the two became a bonded pair. Shikanori caught some heat from his father to find a way to support the pack as a hunter or pupsitter, and after one such argument he stormed off to clear his head on another long walk. However, about midway into the journey, Shikanori heard an odd noise. When he crept up and investigated it, he witnessed an enemy pack attempting to sneak onto the territory and ambush the pack. As soon as the intruders had snuck far enough as to be out of direct earshot, Shikanori bolted back to the den, and alerted the pack of the threat. By the time the trespassing wolves made it to their den, Eclipse Coven had staged an ambush of their own and easily turned the tables against the enemy pack. When the dust settled, Shikanori was hailed as a hero and showered in praise. His father, who had regretted their argument as soon as Shikanori has disappeared from sight, apologized for not only his insults, but also for his narrow way of thinking. As a demonstration of his changed perspective and extreme appreciation, Kaiyo appointed him designated lookout.
