"What made you decide to become a pupsitter?"
Dark Chocolate Cone smiled softly. His fur was a bit ruffled as his attention was mostly on making sure the pups he protected didn't get themselves in trouble. This was a brief moment of respite in his day as the little ones were taking a nap, bundled up against each other in a sleepy pile. Even if they were asleep, the male kept them in the corner of his vision just to make sure.
"I like to believe each one has a bright future ahead of them," he spoke. "They could be an herbalist. Or a scout. Maybe even lead an entire pack someday." He nodded his head slightly, agreeing with his own words. "I've heard of young ones being chased out before they know how to take care of themselves and the world can be unforgiving to a younging like that. I just help them along; Avocado Snacks and I make sure of it. Besides, we were both on our own for a while before Chicken Penne invited us to join the Food House so we can teach them tricks to make the journey easier on the young adults."
Dark Chocolate Cone's eyes sparkled with happiness despite looking weary himself. "Sometimes, I wonder if they'll remember us when they go and find a new pack. It'd be nice that's for sure, but I'm okay if they don't. As long as they find that special place that they know deep in their heart is their home, that's enough for me."
