Summer was the first wolf, aside from Tala, that Shadow met when he came to this new place. She was also without a pack, looking to start a new life, and build something to last, as she told Shadow. Her reasons for being alone she has never shared, and he has never pressed on her to do so. She was clever and agile, more familiar with the regions here than he was, and so he entrusted her as the first scout to the pack. With dedication and patience, she mapped out the farthest reaches of the known lands, paving the way for hunting and exploring all the resources on offer.
Satisfied with her hard work, and getting on in age, Summer chose her successor in Knows the Land. An adoptee taken into the pack by Swift as a Falcon and Speaks with Fishes. She's magic-touched, that much is clear, and she had a talent for scouting. So much so that Summer felt comforted in leaving her legacy to this bright young wolf. Once Knows was grown, and able to strike out on her own, Summer retired from scouting and has been mentoring the young pups of the pack ever since. She is content to mother hen and relax around the dens for the rest of her days.
