Ilia

Wandering the wilderness as a young pup gave Ilia (prounounced: ILL-e-ah) a harsh take on life. She scavenged from the kills of larger beasts. She witnessed death: lone wolves fallen from ill-picked battles, caribou hunted down, mushrooms sprouting from carcasses.

But she also found life. She watched summer wildflowers blooming from the earth, late chicks hatching. And her dreams - they were wild, vivid, and oddly comforting. In them, she waded through lush grass that turned blue and silver in the moonlight. She sniffed purple flowers dusted with shivering dewdrops and followed trails of glowing dust well into the beyondlands. The critters were unafraid, and they watched her with bright eyes.

When the House accepted her, she struggled to accept it back. She sought the same calm solitude she had in her dreams, so she spent her days trailing Ghost, foraging far from common paths. But sometimes, she could feel her dreams bleeding into reality, and she feared that one day she wouldn't be able to tell the difference.
