Biography
She could see him and her father mock battle each other in the clearing. Both wolves giving all they had without grievously hurting each other. Rainstorm's Revenge, her mother and the alpha's mate, sat beside her watching her mate train the son he had outside of their pairbond. Everyday she could see the pain in her mother's eyes, the knowledge that her mate didn't think the pups from their union were good enough to lead the pack. East Star was older than her by just a few months but it felt like years. He was always busy with pack duties and hardly ever sat down to rest and talk. Watching East Star finally succeeding in bringing their father down to the ground his teeth on his throat brought her back into the moment. She could feel her lips beginning to curl back, Shaking off the snarl that had made its way on her face she nudged her mother as East Star's own mother bounded into the clearing. Bright Day couldn't blame her father for his affair, Post Sunset was beautiful. Her pelt was bright red, almost like the setting sun, and she carried herself with grace at all times.
She could feel her mother begin to shake but before she could make a comment on it, Rainstorm had already gotten up and started walking in the opposite direction of the clearing making her way to the ice caves. Jumping up to follow her mother, she is stopped by her father calling out to her. Turning back around Bright Day puts on her most charming smile padding softly up to the three wolves.
Her tongue felt like sandpaper but she forced herself to speak,
"Yes father? What can I do for you?" Finally stopping in front of the alpha, she bowed her head in submission, glancing up to stare directly at him trying hard to not look at Post Sunset or that flea bitten meat sack known as the next heir to Aeternum.
"I have a mission for you. You can say no, but I honestly think you will enjoy it and maybe it will help you in the long run." Bottomless Chasm, the alpha of Aeternum, had dark red fur, the scars on his body a testament to how hard he had fought to keep his pack alive and thriving. Bright Day admired her father and the things he had to endure to keep his family safe, and yet at times a bubble of resentment would brew in her stomach when she would see him. The betrayal of her father staring straight at her on his left side, She could feel her skin crawl as East Star had not taken his eyes off of her since their father had called out to her.
"Sunset, can you leave us for a minute, please?" Bottomless Chasm giving her a nudge watched as the younger she-wolf sauntered off back towards the watering hole.
"Do you wish for me to give you both a minute as well, father?" East Stars deep growl made Bright Day's stomach start to feel like tiny birds had made a nest and were trying to break free.
"No, this is pack business. I want you to watch." Once Post Sunset was out of earshot the alpha finally began to speak.
"My beautiful daughter, I am proud of the young wolf you have become, however I have noticed you have a dislike of your brother." Before her father could say more Bright Day blurted out in a petulant voice,
"Half-brother." Her father giving her a patient smile resumed speaking,
"I want you to be our next travel wolf." Bright Day had gone through a plethora of emotions from pride to anger and now to shock.
"You want me to leave the pack?" She could feel the pin pricks in her eyes as they started to well up with tears.
"A travel wolf is still pack, they are important to us, same as any hunter." Glaring at East Star she couldn't contain her snarl any longer.
"Is this your idea? Are you trying to get rid of me?" Looking towards her father Bright Day could feel her whole body tremble.
"This is my idea. East Star was against me asking. He wants you to be a finisher or stalker. I think that meeting new wolves will help you calm that anger you have." The feeling of shock had come back, looking down Bright Day felt lost.
"You are a part of this pack Bright Day. When you come back and regale your tales of adventure to our pups you bring knowledge." The shock faded as Bright Day listened to East Star defend the role of traveler, the shock was slowly replaced with determination.
"Okay. I will leave and become a travel wolf." Looking into East Star's eyes as she said this his nods of approval warming her belly like a warm fresh kill.
Making her way out of the glacier Bright Day couldn't help but think that East Star couldn't be as bad as she thought he was to have such a passionate speech about travel wolves.

Lore: Bright Day found herself in a large deciduous forest in the middle of the night. She had traveled all through the day and was wondering when she might meet her first pack. It had been a few days since she'd found out she would become a traveler and having not found any other packs yet only made her feel more worthless. She hoped to prove to East Star that his defense of traveling wolves was worthwhile. And she wanted to tell her mother all about it.
Bright Day looked up when she heard the sound of a bird tittering nearby. She noticed a blue mist had gathered at the bases of the trees and saw a magpie with glowing blue feathers just before her. Before she could squeak out, startled, a large she-wolf came up beside her to gaze at the bird as well.
"A lunar magpie. They're pretty, right? Welcome to the Starshade Woods. I'm Joanne, a den mother of the Starshade Pack," the she-wolf introduced, giving Bright Day a welcoming smile. "You're a traveler, right? How about you stay with the Starshade Pack for a while?"
Bright Day was taken aback by the warm welcome and happily agreed, following Joanne deeper into the woods. Joanne explained how these woods are permeated by lunar energy and lunar creatures mistake this plane for their own so they wind up there often. She herself had a purple coat that glowed because of exposure to the lunar energy.
Soon enough Bright Day found herself in the densest part of the woods where the leaves were so thick, the forest floor was shaded from even starlight. But it was far from dark as the mist and the glow from the wolves gave everything a gentle brightness. Dens were dug out among the roots of the trees and wolves of all kinds wandered about.
Bright Day stayed as a pupsitter and learned how to manage the Starshade puppies while talking with Joanne. Joanne gave her a set of ornamental bones as a gift to take with her on her travels and soon Bright Day was on her way to visit new packs and make new memories. She felt renewed determination to do well for East Star and the Aeternum Pack.

Lore: Bright Day travelled upwards to the north. Pine trees began to poke the horizon as she continued padding across dirty ground. Absently, she thought about East Star. He'd tried to hype her up about travelling, but it had already been another two days with no sign of another pack. Her paws ached and she didn't even feel free, confined to her own physical limit. She didn't want to waste energy so she scarcely hunted and sometimes even ate worms, bugs, and berries.
She already dreaded taking another step. It annoyed her how slow she had to move, how there were no packs anywhere and how the trees and bushes, and irritating roots got in her way and crowded the space. In the glacier, everything was so empty, and she truly felt free running through the snow with the sun shining onto her fur. Here, branches stole the sunlight and the snow was replaced by mud and dirt that got caught in her paws.
Suddenly something rammed into her and the weight landed on top of her in dirt. She growled and tried to kick it off with her back paws, but the weight was too much. Something snarled in her ear
"You trespass on our territory. State your business."
Bright day shoved against the male wolf and got some footage to scramble out from under him. Her hackles raised. "I am Bright Day, a traveller." She couldn't help but murmur something under her breath "Mouse-brain..."
Despite the rough tone of his voice, his eyes seemed to transform into a gentler version and he huffed. "Then follow." Reluctantly Bright Day padded after the stranger and she couldn't help it when her mind wandered to his appearance. His fur was the colour of fog and his eyes were a keen yellow, stark against his monotone pelt. He moved with confidence, muscles rippling with each stride.
Soon Bright Day became focused on their surroundings, ending the brief time where she admired the wolf in front of her. Trees towered upwards, linking their arms high above to block most of the sun. Gaps in the leaves became less frequent and a mellow darkness fell over the forest floor.
Bright Day stared at the space above the low-hanging branches, totally missing the large roots that started to bundle into her path. She stubbed her paw, slamming it into the dirty bark. Sucking is a breath she leaned down and licked it. Whatever. Unwilling to let the slight throbbing pain get to her, she continued following the wolf.
Soon a clearing came into view with wolves meandering around. There were barely any trees nearby and the only sun for miles stroked the dirt ground. A wolf, similar in looks to her guide, bounded up to her. "And who might you be?"
"I am Bright Day, a traveller from the Aeternum Pack."
The she nodded. "I am Shadow. We welcome you to stay for a while."
Bright Day felt a slight confusion that Shadow nodded, as if she knew she was coming. But Bright Day brushed it off when Shadow nudged her forward. "Grey will show you around and help you get settled in." Her guide through the forest stepped towards her and she found it funny he would be her guide through the clearing den.
Slowly Bright Day became more comfortable as the days went on, but soon she felt a bit *too* comfortable. She didn't want to stay in a single pack for so long, as that made her feel like she wasn't really travelling. Although she despised walking for days on end, she would at least be exploring...
Soon her paws itched to travel. She went to Shadow and told her the urge she felt to leave, and that she would be leaving, most likely tomorrow. Yet again, Shadow nodded. "It's the call of the wild. You must answer eventually. Feel free to take some prey with you when you leave."
Bright Day smiled. Shadow was an amazing host and she already had lots of stories about her adventure to tell. Even though she had despised the essence of her half-brother her whole life, she felt excited to spill her adventures to him after she returned.
Days passed and Bright Day started to feel as if she was overstaying. The wild was a paw step away and she yearned for the next journey. She spoke to Shadow, saying she'd like to continue on her adventure. Again, Shadow nodded. "It's the call of the wild." She spoke, confident in her words "You must answer. Take a carcass with you and be on your way."
Shadow smiled and nudged Bright Day towards the kill pile and wished her well. As she chose her carcass and said her goodbyes, her paws itched for the wild. As soon as she could run through the trees, she was off, searching for her next pack.

Lore: This time around, it took only couple of days for Bright Day to stumble across a new pack. Almost immediately after stepping into the rainforest, a hunting party found her, and all of the members agreed that the best thing to do is to take Bright Day to their pack.
Their leader, a she-wolf with grey pelt named Silver, looked equally concerned and frustrated and left the elders to take care of the newcomer.
"Don't take her behaviour to heart pup. Our pack extended far too quickly and now Silver is scrambling about to make sure all of us are fed. Not to mention the lack of space"
Bright Day nodded but she still couldn't bring herself to like the pack's leader, and multiple times doubted Silver's leadership abilities throughout her tour. Once it was over, the fox pelted elder brought her to an empty and dark clearing and picks out a tiny orchid glowing with blue hue from a stone on the left and an orb anklet, shimmering with the same glow as the orchid from the stone on the right before speaking up again.
"Those used to belong to two of our leaders. The anklet belonged to our first leader that established this pack and created a unique bond with the lunar realms. The orchid belonged to the second leader, Jay, that brought us to this rainforest. They both adored travelers and I'm sure that they would want you to have this, to carry on your travels with pride"
