Nocturne was a lone wolf for most of her life, capable and independent. Born in a faraway frozen land, Nocturne left as a yearling and wandered through mountain vale and yellow valley, surviving on her own. Headstrong and quick on her feet, she has seen and experienced much in her years. She arrived in Wolf's Den in the Summer of Year 1 and, as was her wont, had a dalliance with a local male. Much to her surprise, Nocturne learned she was expecting soon thereafter. An older wolf with no experience raising pups, in a strange land alone...
A hunting patrol of Fox Berry, Rustyheart, and Mosswood met Nocturne crossing through Brightspirit territory in that same summer and challenged her with bristling fur. Overruling the two defensive [boys], Fox Berry led Nocturne to the pack camp. Nocturne was quickly offered a place in the pack- her worldly experience and capable paws would be highly appreciated- and she immediately accepted, understanding the value of a pack for her pups even if she herself strained at its confines.
Nocturne was one of several expecting wolves, as well as one of several new members, and she spent much of her time adjusting to pack life alongside the pupsitters. She chafed at her extremely reduced freedoms and rolled her eyes at the antics of other wolves, but she found their presence a strange comfort, especially as her time grew nearer. In the fading days of summer, under the fullness of the moon, Nocturne had her first and only litter. The birth of her pups was a perspective-shifting event. She had not known such depth of feeling existed, but as she watched her sons sleep and play and tussle in the grass, her world expanded.
She named her pups in the tradition of her icy homeland- Brann and Aegean of Line Stormwater, descended from the Lord of the Sea, god of vast waters and mighty storms. In doing so, she reclaimed her identity as an heir to stormfronts, and brought her culture to the Brightspirit Pack.
Content to spend the remainder of her days watching her pups grow- and assisting her new pack with their own pups, too- Nocturne spends most of her days strolling around the territory, determined to learn every nook and cranny of the land she has finally decided to settle in. She has taken special interest in [keep], and has struck up a friendship with Violet Quietguide, though she is rather neutral on the latter's politics.
