In distant days, under lost stars, a sky-tossed land once thrived. The Packs of the blessed blue Moon and the wondrous warming Sun roamed over dew-soaked grasses and rested beneath moss-blanket trees. They drank from crisp clear waters and feasted on fresh rubied meat, and they were proud and noble Packs.
Then the Cataclysm came.
Their world ended, lone survivors and lost stragglers stumbled together to a new land, a new future. Vastly different from the world they knew, the survivors brought nothing with them but their faith and their memory. They named themselves the Brightspirit Pack, in the tradition of their lost homeland, in memory of the innumerable spirits lost and forever restless.
Pack Names
Those born in the Old Lands were named for their appearance, a natural word connected to their colour. When they came of age and passed a Rite of Renewal, they would be gifted a full name by their Pack's leadership. Exceptional individuals could earn a Testament Name, a unique identifier for great accomplishments. The Brightspirit Pack continues this tradition, though new members from the new lands are not required to take on their names and faith. Pups born to the founding members still follow this naming scheme.

Pack Terminology
the Eternal Cycle- religion of the Old Lands, centered around the tenants of Sun and Moon. The Sun stresses acceptance, warmth, and survival, and gold-furred wolves are considered to be touched by sunrays. The Moon encourages exploration and security, and favours dark-furred wolves bathed in silver light and long shadows. Fangspeak- a common tongue spoken primarily by wolves, coyotes, and bears, though foxes and badgers sometimes learn the language. Dialects exist for communication with corvids and birds of prey, as well as for snakes and alligators. Newdawn- the day the Pack claimed their new territory and name, now celebrated as a Pack holiday.
Pack Events
In the Spring of Year 1, the Pack grew strong in number and in land. They discovered that spring was the season of matchmaking in the New Lands and met the wolf Eranthis. Violet Quietguide met the wolf Lyte'mor during this time and an alliance with the blood of Fenrir soon followed. The Summer of Year 1 marked a period of great growth for the pack with the birth of several litters. The Autumn of Year 1 saw an increase in sickness, seen as a sign of an upcoming harsh winter.
