Lore:It was hot, this area of the taiga was not at all sheltered from the sweltering heat. Fable trudged along the lakeshore, gazing into the water.
She leaned down to take a sip of water, she heard a loud splash and water spattered over her face. The splash was large enough to douse her fur in water.
Something about the way it moved in her fur made Fable rethink drinking it. She gaped the glared at a wolf, older than she was.
They let out a laugh tilting their head back in amusement. The black patches on their body seemed to move strangely.
"What the hell!" She hissed, shaking out her soaked fur. The other only continued to laugh, "What's your problem?"
The other quieted after a moment. "I did that because I'm not sure you should be so close to the lake" they shrugged.
The other wolf smirked, "I'm Orca, what about you?" they asked. Fable let out a snort, "Fable," Orca nodded before she began to walk up the bank towards a waterfall.
By now the sun was beginning to set, and it was slowly growing colder. Not to mention her fur was still damp.
Orca stood waiting patiently, seeming to already know her decision. Fable groaned and began to follow the other wolf behind the waterfall, to the gemstone cave behind it.

Lore: Fable winced as she walked through the desert, the hot sand prickling at her paws. Here, there were no trees, no shade. Nothing to shelter her from the scorching heat. But Fable was a wolf on a mission. And she wasn't going to let a little discomfort or rumors of ravenous coyote bandit packs distract her from it.
You see, Fable had heard that there was a traveling bard and storyteller who often was seen wandering through the desert. There were all sorts of tales about that piebald wolf. Saying how he worked with a pack who lived in an old human ghost town. Or he was so charming, he even managed to befriend coyotes and mountain lions. Some rumors even said that the faelcu once took him hostage for his storytelling ability, and he was only able to escape by the skin of his teeth. Exaggerated or no, a wolf like that would surely have some interesting stories...
But try as she might, Fable simply couldn't seem to find that legendary bard. Her paws began to ache, and she started to grow nervous. Somehow, the desert became even more hostile at night. it was shockingly cold, and not in a pleasant way -- and she was surrounded by the rattling of unfamiliar insects and distant yips of coyote packs.
Just as she was about to give up however, she saw a strange light flickering in the distance. Both unnerved, and slightly intrigued, Fable ventured closer... and found none other than the very piebald wolf she was looking for. Speaking while sitting in front of a small fire, with a pair of young coyotes staring up at him in wonder. As she approached, the two coyotes scattered, (she figured they did not have good experience with wolves) leaving the two of them alone.
"Well I'll be," said the piebald wolf with a smile. "It's not often we get a forest wolf so far from home. Come, have a sit by the fire. You're shivering."
The wolf patted the soft deer hide next to him with a paw. His voice had a soft, familiar twang to it that made Fable's heart patter. She wasn't expecting him to be quite so... Fable shook her head. But no, she was on a mission, dang it! She wanted to hear some new stories, and had no time for such silly things.
The wolf introduced himself as Jingle Jangle. He seemed almost pleased by the fact she didn't know his name. She explained her mission to Jingle, who's ears immediately perked up - delighted to find a fellow storyteller. The two of them began talking together, as the pair of them exchanged stories. Words seemed to pour and meld between them as effortlessly as a river. Fable was so caught up in their conversation that she didn't even notice that the sun had risen in the background.
She stumbled to her feet, embarrassed. "I'm so sorry -- I didn't mean to keep you here all night. You must have better things to do, I-"
Jingle flicked the piece of straw between his teeth. "It's no trouble at all. I'd be happy to walk you back to your border, but..." He hesitated, trying to sound cool. But Fable couldn't help but smile at the almost puppy-like, nervous expression on your face. "If you don't have anywhere else to be, you could stay a while longer, if you like."
What started off as only a few days turned into a few weeks, which spun into months. Every time they thought they had run out of stories, they would always find another, and would spend hours each day traveling, sharing tales and enjoying each other's company.
One day however, Fable felt a pang of longing in her heart. She enjoyed Jingle's company, but... something was missing. Her paws were calling her to wander, and she felt as though she were caught in a trap, and couldn't bear the idea of staying any longer.
Jingle seemed to sense it too. "You need to go, don't you?" He said softly.
Fable nodded, relieved that he didn't seem to upset by it. Jingle brushed his head against hers. "Got the call to wander, don't you?"
Fable nodded. Jingle grinned. "Well go on, then. Don't let me hold you."
"Will I ever see you again?" Fable asked hesitantly. Jingle smiled.
"Anytime. You know where to find me. And when you hear my howl a whistlin', know that I'll always be thinking of you."
Jingle touched his nose to hers, and the two of them parted ways. As Fable went to continue her journey alone.
