Tazu

Tazu was running full pelt after a bull elk. He could see the moonlight glinting off the beast's antlers, and was close enough to hear its ragged breathing. The pack, seeing that he had veered off course from the cow they had been chasing, swiftly turned as one to follow him. There was fear in their eyes, fear of bones shattered on angry hooves and gaping wounds caused by errant tines. The cow had been a much safer bet, but Tazu's blood was up and his jaws were slavering. Quivering with adrenaline, the elk turned abruptly in a desperate bid to shake off the chasing wolves, but Tazu had anticipated it and the elk's throat was nearly in biting reach. Stretching until he could nearly feel his tendons snapping, Tazu leapt at the elk's neck and grasped onto it's throat. For a moment he dangled, and the pack could only watch in horror, waiting for him to be violently flung into the air. But Tazu dug in deeper, and though the elk bellowed, he could not rid his body of the wolf. The pack rushed to Tazu's aid, and a few minutes later they feasted. Eclipse snarled at him, for he was the finisher, and Tazu was but a chaser. Later Tazu had to endure warnings and grim predictions of his short life from Achilles and Asta, but he knew he would never be able to resist the largest and most dangerous game...
