If you're sure you have found all cryptids, then this indeed sounds like a bug. I think making a bug report would be a good idea. Good luck! :)

I completed all cryptid achievements last year, but unfortunately my Rainforest Cryptids,
The Kinfolk, The Independent and The Merged achievements didn't check themselves off.

So started collecting them again this year to make sure if I did complete them,
I'm definitely done with the Rainforest Cryptids achievement, so can I get some help please.
