Wolf Blood / Meat / Scrotum Data Collection: October Mutie Item Efficacy

Wolf Blood / Meat / Scrotum Data Collection: October Mutie Item Efficacy
Posted 2023-10-22 22:01:25 (edited)
Hi all!

With the new breeding items available today, I thought it would be useful to try and figure out how much they actually boost chances. However, since it is such a rare event to begin with, we will need lots of data. If you want to help, please record individually for each breeding:

Item(s) used: [wolf blood / meat / scrotum], and who you used them on [example: Scrotum to male, wolf meat to female]
Female mutation status: [Piebald, Albino, Cataracts, etc. NA if none]
Male mutation status: [Piebald, Albino, Cataracts, etc. NA if none]
Female Fertility: [Description like very good, low, etc. and exact % if revealed by fertility snake]
Litter size: # [total number of pups in litter]
Pup mutations: # and which kind, if any

Here is the template:

Item(s) used:
Female mutation status:
Male mutation status:
Female Fertility:
Litter size:
Pup mutations:

Once we have enough, we can start tabulating the data to see what the % of these items actually is!

For reference:

Wolf Blood:Wolf Meat:Wolf Scrotum:
Applying this item to the female wolf before breeding will give a small chance for a puppy in her next litter to develop a recessive mutation.Female wolves that consume Wolf Meat before their next breeding have a higher chance that a puppy in their litter will develop a random spontaneous mutation.Any wolf that consumes this item prior to breeding has a higher chance that a puppy in their litter will be born with the same mutation that they have.

Further clarification from the admins in Community Update #112

Do Wolf Meat and Wolf Blood stack?
They do not stack chances, but can be used at the same time.

Does Wolf Blood up the chance of mutations like Albinism?
Yes, as Albinism is a recessive genetic mutation.

Will Wolf Blood wipe naturally passing genetic mutations (e.g. if you breed an Albinism wolf to a Melanistic wolf and use Wolf Blood, can you get a Cataracts wolf who carries Albinism/Melanism, or will the Wolf Blood wipe the chance for Albinism/Melanism to pass)?
Wolf Blood is currently set to overwrite naturally passing genetic mutations.

Is Piebald affected by the breeding items?
Piebald is separate and can only pass from breeding Piebald parents or using the respective applicators to apply the mutations to wolves; however, it is compatible with Wolf Scrotums, which can be used to increase the chance of the mutation passing.

And further information about the baseline mutation pass rate from the Grouse House Guide:
Non-carrier x Non-carrier = 100% Non-carrier
Non-carrier x Carrier = 90% Non-carrier, 10% Carrier
Non-carrier x Mutation = 15% Carrier, 85% Non-carrier, 0% Mutation
Carrier x Carrier = 10% Carrier, 10% Mutation, 80% Non-carrier
Carrier x Mutation = 15% Carrier, 15% Mutation, 70% Non-carrier
Mutation x Mutation = 10% Carrier, 20% Mutation, 70% Non-carrier

Items used: wolf meat (blue sage)
Female mutation status: Piebald: Torn
Male mutation status: Piebald: Torn
Female Fertility: 1% (purposely lowered)
Litter size: 4
Pup mutations: 2, Piebald: Torn

(sidenote: unsure if this is to do with the fertility %, but I had 4 female pups, and 2 of them were infertile - the piebald ones too, to boot. if this is to do w/ fertility % please lmk so I can remove this due to irrelevancy lol)
