Stats above all! The pups with the best stats for future roles stay. The weaklings are turned out. No mercy!

I also like the natural colors + stats so I try to stick to that. What do you all do with the ones that aren't worthy? Because I can't seem to get rid of them

I sell them. I start out charging a decent amount, since they're high-statted. But I find that nobody wants to pay that much. So I end up dumping them for cheap. They often become bear fodder, but that's not really my concern. When one of them does find a proper home, that account is usually abandoned later and the pup never grows up. There's nothing you can do about it. Those extra pups have to go somewhere.

That makes sense. Sad but sensible

So I have 8 hunting parties, so I'm thinking 40 hunters, 1 herbalist, 2 scouts, and 15 pupsitters. What do you think? Do you think that's a more manageable number? And it gives some wiggle room for pups, adols, R&Cs, and mentors/elders

It sounds like over-breeding to me. But I don't do R&C and I only have 3 hunting parties. In my pack, a pup with no job waiting for them shouldn't have been born. That sounds brutal now that I say it out loud. But it's true.

I struggle with letting them go

Another trick I use is to not name the ones who will be leaving. Only pups who are staying in my pack get names. It's harder to bond with them if they don't have names, so you feel it less when you dump them. You could also try pricing them super-cheap, so they sell quickly. You know, rip the bandaid off.

That's a good idea. I'll have to try that, thanks

Hey spotpc, would you actually recommend having 4 hunting parties?
I currently have 4, but since there are only 3 medium biomes and I'm not good enough to hunt in difficult, I always send one to hunt in the grasslands, but they don't really gain any EXP from that.
While I won't sell them now or anything, I'm thinking about not giving them successors and disbanding the hunting party after the first one has died in a few years.

And I was wondering what your advice on this would be since you're the stat and hunting expert here and you also mentioned having only 3 hunting parties
