Hullo orion! There have been a lot of new things recently, so I can understand it being really confusing to look at all at once. It's a little hard for me to explain everything without knowing where you're having troubles, but I'll do my best to explain some newer features in the game ^-^.

You might notice on your den page there are two new pack cards, which are pupsitting and socializing. Pupsitting was ofc a feature still before its pack card was added, however the socializing is new! Socializing is where you can select up to 5 different wolves to go and socialize/interact with each other. Their personalities do matter, and depending on if you match the personalities well or not it could result in a little bonus or a little penalty to your wolves.
Speaking of personalities, there was also a personality update. Each personality adds and removes a small amount of stats from your wolf. For example, my current lead, Myrkri Light, has an imaginative personality. If you go over to where her stats are displayed, you can hover over the little question mark and it'll say "Personality gives: -3STR, +7WIS, +3SPD." Personalities also have another impact on lead wolves specifically. Depending on your lead wolf's personality, you can have a certain perk. Again I'll use my lead as an example. She has an imaginative personality, which gives her +1% chance of getting trophy drops. You can read all of the personalities and more about socializing on this development thread.

They also added a new game! It's called Code Breaker, and it takes after a game called Mastermind. It's a little confusing to understand at first, so here's my best explanation of how it works- Your goal is to find the correct 4 color pattern. To do that, you have to click on the colored buttons at the bottom of the game display, where they will then appear in the slots above. Once you guess your 4 colors, it will give you a little indication of how correct you are based on the tiny slots on the right side of the game display. Here's how those work- white dot = correct placement and correct color, red dot = correct color, wrong placement, blank dot = wrong color. Here's the main thing to note down, the colors do not correspond to the slot. If you have a white dot on your first guess, it does not mean that the first color in the first slot is correct, it means that 1 of the 4 colors is correct. Your goal is to figure out which one is correct and find the other correct colors in the correct places to win the game. Once you get all 4 right, you can then submit your score, which is displayed at the very top of the game display. The higher the score, the better prizes you have a chance of getting. However, you can only submit your score once per day.
With the introduction of the new game came a new item, called aniseed. Aniseed is not a huge game-changer item though. Simply all it does is increase the chances of coming across the befriended wolf encounter in explore for 30 minutes.
Lastly on the games section there were some changes made to the fishing game. Instead of submitting however many fish you wanted every 10 minutes with an SC cap of 100, you now can only submit 30 fish max but can earn over 100SC if you submit the right kinds of fish, and you can also submit fish one after another without a timer.

I'm not sure how long ago you left and how much you've learned since you've come back, so it's a lot to go through, but I'll briefly go over a few more things that might be confusing.
There is a role now for traveling wolves, where you can set them as a traveler and then send them off safely to other packs to gather lore or just be out there. There will also be a new upcoming role that the devs have talked about, which is called Alchemist. Not much is known about it right now, but we do know it'll very likely be paired somehow with the herbalist.
There was also a new lethal mutation added to the game, alongside a new pose variant! The lethal is called sirenomelia, and it's just as hard to breed now as any other lethal is. The new pose is called nesting/motherly. The nesting pose is for pregnant female wolves who are nested safely for when they are going to give birth, and the motherly pose is the same thing but can actually be applied to any wolf at any time.
Hmm, I'm not sure how long ago this came out (I've been playing for way too long haha) but there's also a feature called raffle studs. These are studs that you can breed to upon winning a raffle, which you enter by giving that wolf an item they are requesting. They are featured every week on the Community Updates, alongside a new poll that is hosted every week, where you can vote and share your opinion of a question they are asking the community. There are also weekly official raffles hosted on the weekly updates as well, where you get to enter a raffle using 5SC to have a chance at winning a cool prize from the 20 different prizes listed in the raffle.
There's also this place on the crossroads called 'Groups'. This is a place where you go to enter other people's or make your own groups for fun purposes. Currently they don't have much you can do with them. There can be a hoard for you to give and take items from, there's a forum area to post forum topics and chat, and there's the main page where the owner can make announcements to anyone within the group.

Hmm, that's all I can think of right now, but if there's anything else that is confusing you then feel free to ask and I'll answer to the best of my abilities <3.

Oh wow this is alot to read and take in I'm definitely going to refer back to this in case I get lost. Do you have any tips on getting currency aside from quests? I heard that my lead wolf has to be level 10 to encounter chased wolves?

The quests and playing the games can get you some currency. But if you're lucky you can also find things like rare recipes to sell. You can also sell resources like food and amusement you have extra of, or herbs and medicine as well. If you can find a good wolf to make your stud too you can get a fair amount of money that way as well. I'd say its mostly just understanding what people in the market are looking for, which can be quite hard and complicated to understand.
Yes, your wolf needs to be lvl10 to find chased wolves, and needs to be lvl15 to find special wolves. Special wolves are just regular NBWs with rare NBW attributes (certain tii bases, certain nbw markings, certain eye colors). If you're really lucky, you can find a really nice chased wolf and that can earn you some money as well.
