I support as long as PvP can be optional.

While I personally love the idea of pvp, Iā€™ve seen quite a few who donā€™t and I agree players shouldnā€™t be forced into it if they do not want to be. I really liked Snowā€™s idea involving large predators in the packā€™s territory, then maybe later implement a pvp option players can opt into.

I also love the mentioned ā€˜zoningā€™ of possible players for fights and have a smoll idea for it: Newer/lower statted players, if they so dare, can attack higher statted packs at the risk of more punishing consequences should they fail. However high statted players should be unable to attack players whoā€™s stats are too low. Should a player engage in pvp they shouldnā€™t be able to guarantee a win by picking lower statted players.Ā 

Iā€™ve also read many comments concerning losing territory: I personally think engaging in pvp, the player should accept the risk of losing some territory. Players canā€™t gain without risk, but the amount of paid slots (bought with sc) that can be lost should be limited. For example, if the player is unlucky enough to to lose 2 paid territory slots to chance before they gain any, said player cannot lose anymore territory slots until they have gained via pvp. Those pvp won slots are fair game to be rarely lost in battle. If territory slots are a rare drop, players shouldnā€™t have to worry too much about their paid slots but still have some risk involved in attacking other packs other than just injury/illness to their wolves. There could also be the rare drop of randomly generated territory slots where the victor gains territory and the loser does not lose a slot to lessen the risk of losing hard earned sc slots.

Anyhoo, the possibilities are endless. I really do love the idea of more pack roles, as well as another caveat to gain territory and enrichment items. Itā€™s pretty rough with just two scouts ((especially since I raise my unsold pups to chase, it kills my hoard of feathers ;-;)).Ā

I support without the loss of territory and it be an optional role but I think you could just do something simple.Ā 

My suggestion would be to have one battle wolf/soldier/warrior who can do pvp. You get an additional role, they gain experience if they win and can get an injury if they donā€™t or also scars?. You can swap them out with others roles like you do now but maybe could still do better with proficiency? Anddd if you donā€™t want to do pvp you donā€™t have to.Ā 

You could do leaderboards with win to loss ratios and do betting if you wanted to get more complicated. It could almost be like a pvp mini game.Ā
