Allow All Males to Breed within the Pack

Yep, with the specific amendment to the op, I'm throwing down more support! I feel like the cooldowns option makes the most sense. |

I completely support this idea with every variation of it, though i feel it is very unlikely to be implemented. :< |

@Ivery I'm not so sure... I dont want to get my hopes up but seeing as how this wasnt on the auto reject board (like it is on Lioden) it might be possible it'd be something up for consideration. It sounded like in early development they were having a hard time figuring out how to deal with breedings and the stud system so I'm hoping that's something they're a bit more open to. |

I’m in full support of this idea! While in lions it makes sense to focus on one male and an army of females, with wolves it just doesn’t translate well. Personally, I’ve always been partial to systems like Flight Rising, where every creature has a cooldown and can breed once that’s up- though usually reliant on rarity of the creature. I have no problem with the heat setup here, though! I just think allowing more males to breed would be best. While I can understand the devs wanting to stick to their own system, the lack of use males have has already resulted in mass devaluation and I don’t think the pup market will be sustainable like this. Giving more males the ability to breed should result in a less female-dominated market, equalize pricing, and result in fewer male pups getting chased simply for being male. |

Not to mention on lioden, female cubs are more likely, I think male cubs are ⅓ or ⅕ (I don't remember) the chance to be born, while here pups seem about 50/50. |

I feel like litters are mostly male, and it sucks that most of my good pups have no use. |

@kristan glad you see you jump back in! just restating that like a lot of people, i fully support the idea with male cooldowns!! not a fan of some of the other restrictions that have been proposed, but it sounds like this thread isn't too focused on those anyway ^^ |

Big huge support. I don’t like feeling as though I have to buy sex changers for every single litter I have just to make the males not useless. |

I don't like the idea of a limited amount of slots similar to breeding males per pack or even per male. With the cooldown system if males aren't in a cycle like females and can breed right after cooldown, I am perfectly fine with waiting in order to pair my males with their "mates" I have chosen (I play WD for lore and character development) If there was a limitation per week, it would be that much harder to breed my female with my male when you add heat cycles on top of that. Though I am okay with the idea of males being able to be bred whenever, but having a limit on how many litters they can produce in their lifetime as a whole, similar to females. Not to mention the studding market is only run by a few players that have an iron grip on the system, making their studding price rather high, and everyone else is shit out of luck. In all honesty, studding is only a valuable source of income for the 1% who can afford to burn through their pockets to pay their way to the top. Not to mention lioden is a breeding sim, but wolvden is much more of an RPG, so no doubt a lot of people (like me) play for lore and character creation, not simply breeding pretty wolves for the sake of it. The current system forces everyone to play in the same niche, have a large harem or just not have pups, but the point is to replace the next gen with better wolves, not having to restart after a generation dies off, and I am not having fun with this forced harem play style. And if one or two extra stud slots is added, it really doesn't fix the issue at all, you'd still be incentived to have 50 females and maybe 2 males tops. All in all, I think the stuudding system should be left as is currently, and allow every other male to breed within your pack only with a cooldown. |

I support this suggestion. Males wolves are almost useless in terms of gameplay (they can not breed, female wolves can do the same things male wolves can) and every time my female wolves give birth to a male I get so discouraged because I know people will only buy them if they cost a lot less than the female equivalent. |
