Allow All Males to Breed within the Pack

Support. I would much rather see this game mimic how Indomita plays with their stallion and herd system, versus how Lioden plays with their breeding male system. I almost immediately chase off or sex change every single male I come across. It leaves a lot to be desired for RP/lore purposes, and I feel like more flexibility in breeding would benefit the game greatly. |

I’m going to support this endeavor. Choosing a breeding male is a hard process and honestly, I’d rather have many females and pick an outside stud. |

@Alyria Can you describe Indomita's system for people who haven't played it? |

I support this 100% I will need males to do work while the females are nesting, meaning everything but puppy sitting is in the air. I had to spend a lot on food because my females could not hunt. Not to mention some of the pretty based pups I have are mainly male, and no one wants to buy them. |

They aren't actually needed. You just nest your females on the last day instead of first. I actually assigned males as pupsitters first because they aren't doing much to gain stats. I'm slowly replacing all the males in my pack. I hope for this change, but don't expect it anytime soon. |

I didn’t know that, actually. Thank you for the fun fact! I always nest on the first day because I thought it would cause complications on the next rollover if I did not. |

Massive support on this one, I’d like my pups to be worth something lol and not have to chase every male. |

@Mossfoot Indomita works with a no stud fee system. During breeding season, any horse can send a request to any other horse of opposite gender, with a few limitations, those being they have to be an adult, have enough energy, within a certain height range of each other, not be related within 4 generations (essentially, visible on the horse's family tree), and they have to be on the same location. Breeding season is two weeks long, from the 8 of the month to the 21. Stallions are limited only by their energy in being able to send requests (hence the rise of superstuds/prolifics with the current top sire having almost 400 foals sired). Mares have a cooldown of 2 weeks after birthing a foal. They do allow same gender and out of season pairing with a special item; the foal is "born" instantly, and both parents have a cooldown of 2 weeks afterwards. With this item, the only requirements for breeding are that they not be related, have enough energy, and be adults, and the player having enough room for the foal. |

oh yes PLEASE!!! good for lore, gives it that much more uniqueness from lioden, and i can stop going broke when girls go into heat!! and everything about the suggestion is PERFECT, especially only having one 'for stud' male. SUPPORT!!! really hope they add this |

Admittedly, I haven't read the whole thread (the first several pages, but it's a long one!) but support! I like the idea of seasonal or territory-based limitations that some folks brought up - it makes logical sense and it would take some planning on the user end. Sounds fun to work with. c: Either way, it'd be good to get more function out of male wolves and have more varied pairs in-pack. |
