and not one seed But apart from that: for some people (everyone?) the daily and contests have been down for over a day. Maybe we should get some free petals? Or a decor? Considering how many petals you can earn with contests, it's quite a loss... |

edit: not to mention that now that we have an ongoing Lunar event, it prevents you from exploring as much as you'd like in order to gain back those seeds of plants you've lost, because now you can hit the roof of 100 Lunar Essence and going beyond that would be a complete waste. so you're forced to choose between prioritizing your event quest vs prioritizing losing Lunar Essence since you can only bank 100 at a time, max. |

My highest gen plant is 122. (Would be ~260 if it was a normal plant.) If anyone wants to know how good a high-gen mutation is at contests, just look at my medals. 19/20, it beats out its color category and ofc wins in the Mutation category. The worst it gets is 2nd in the Flower category. I don't have to babysit it to replant every 20-ish minutes. I never have to worry about it mutating on me. Ultimately, yes, basic plants are the min-max method for currency, but I know from firsthand experience that mutations have their benefits. It comes down to, if you want a good mutation, then you better stick with it, because it's hard to rotate off of. When other players talk about mutations, it sounds like they gave up part-way through and it gets stuck in a gen 40-60 limbo where it won't win anything. It can, you just need to stick to your guns the same way we do with basic plants. Best of all, it's pretty. :P |

My biggest issues: 1. There is NO indication that higher gen plants do better in contests. I only found this out via talking to friends with higher gen plants who tended to get 1-3rd. My 5* plants started out getting first or second most of the time, but I hadn't been aware that gen affected rank (because it does not say ANYWHERE that generation is important, which I would normally chalk up to my own tendency to miss details, but people I've spoken to have had similar experiences). About halfway through the event I appeased my OCD by growing all my seeds then selling all of them, so I "lost" a few gen 40-50 plants. My highest gen now is 39 and I'm lucky if that gets 5th (yes, it's 5*). This is especially irritating because I basically have no motivation to enter the contests anymore because I know I'm going to lose either way. If "higher gen = better" was assumed to be common knowledge among those who grow plants, then it should've been considered that not everyone grows plants. I'm losing to people with gen 200+ plants and there's just NO motivation to even try anymore. I wasn't even able to get 10/10 for the story. I got 9/10. That's just absurd. 2. I have run into the lunar seed encounter only FIVE times during this event. Only ONCE did I get a seed. Twice was my fault for picking the wrong option, but for the rarity of the encounter, 1/3 times is too low of a rate. Especially considering the achievements to grow hundreds of lunar plants. I'll probably be done with college before I get those achievements. 3. There should be an explanation somewhere that you won't get mass amounts of GP until the Fayre arrives. The amount of complaints I saw initially that it's impossible to get marking applicators is just absurd. Of course, it's not impossible β I've been able to afford several β but the ambiguity does not help anyone and only serves to cause irritation and confusion. 4. It NEEDS to be clarified that daily requests must be grown. That is, you can't turn in the objective flower even if you have it already; you have to grow another one. There are probably other, smaller issues, but these are the ones that irritate me the most. |

I personally don't think it's a big deal that there are things about the events that aren't explicitly told to us - I don't think you can expect that from any game and in fact, in my opinion, it makes things more fun to have things to figure out and try and find out how things work and how to win the competitions for example. If people are confused, you can always ask chat or on the forums. Thankfully now we have an entire month to experiment! Having said that it would be nice if the lunar flower encounter at least gave LT! I'm really enjoying this event, long live Plantden, it was totally worth the wait |

If people are confused, you can always ask chat or on the forums. Thankfully now we have an entire month to experiment! I'm going to have to disagree. There's a difference between being told the basics and being given handouts, and being informed as to how the contests work is certainly not the latter. You shouldn't have to ask other people how to participate in the event. Just because it's an option doesn't mean it should be the only option. There are plenty of players here who never touch chat or forums - I myself don't venture outside of sales chat. It really isn't a big deal to have a sentence like "the higher the quality and the higher the generation, the better!" on the contest page. It takes absolutely nothing away from players who prefer to "figure stuff out", because it's a base mechanic that should be known to every player. There is still plenty to learn without having to self teach the basic concepts to yourself. |
