Pigeonpaw stretched as he entered the clearing, digging his claws into the ground. Another day of training ahead of him...however, when he went to grab some prey from the fresh-kill pile, he noticed Patchstar give him a strange, knowing look. He tilted his head, then shrugged. Oh well, probably just a patrol...or maybe she found out about Nightwing? None of his business really. However, while he was halfway through the thrush he had chosen, Patchstar leapt onto the Highrock and yowled, "All cats old enough to catch prey gather beneath the Highrock for a Clan meeting." Pigeonpaw frowned, but moved his thrush closer. What was this going to be about? He froze as Patchstar's eyes (and the eyes of the Clan) suddenly swung to focus on him, and he only half-heard her say, "Pigeonpaw, would you like to step forward?" His tongue suddenly dried up in his mouth as he stumbled foward. Was this it? Was this the final day? Embarrassingly, as soon as he got to the front, he realized he had a thrush feather stuck to his muzzle, and he sneezed it off quickly. Sure enough, Patchstar's eyes glowed with pride as she said, "I, Patchstar, leader of ThunderClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. He has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code and I commend him to you as a warrior in his turn." Pigeonpaw looked at the crowd, and spotted Nightwing sitting among the cats. He actually showed up... Pigeonpaw had secretly been worried that Nightwing would have been too busy to show up for his warrior ceremony. Patchstar continued, "Pigeonpaw, do you promise to uphold the Warrior Code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?" Pigeonpaw's chest swelled. That's all I've ever wanted! "I do." "Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Pigeonpaw, from this moment on you will be known as Pigeonfeather. StarClan honors your dedication and your drive, and we welcome you as a full warrior of ThunderClan." Pigeonfeather padded forward in silent shock to allow Patchstar to rest her muzzle on his head, and he dutifully licked her shoulder. That went by so fast...and now I have my vigil tonight! Pigeonfeather...that's not lame at all! |

"Fine," I grumbled, lapping up the berries, chewing quickly I swallowed them. "Cherrypaw, thanks for saving me last night. I don't know if you know this, but I can be a little, slow sometimes." |

Hearing the commotion outside, I pricked my ears. The only thing I caught was pigeonfeather. huh, pigeonpaw must have gotten his warrior name. I wish i could be there resting my muzzle on the edge of my nest I sighed. wait, maybe i can "Hey cherrypaw, can you help me outside? I want to see pigeonpaws ceremony." |

"Thanks!" I chirped, standing on wobbly legs and leaning heavily on Cherrypaw as I concentrated hard on placing one paw in front of the other. "Do you think pigeonfeather was named after nightwing? Feather, wing? Id be really cool if something like that would happen to me, Shellwing, Shellflight, Shellfeather, Shellbird" |
