DapperLeap stretched just as Nettlepaw entered with some fish for the other med cats. DapperLeap flopped down on his side, waiting for somecat to give him a job to do. |

After the nice conversation and a full belly, Nettlepaw went back to the med-cat's den to check over the stores. Looking more carefully than in the morning, Nettlepaw realized that the watermint they had was relatively old, some of it already shriveled up. Nettlepaw scaned the camp to see if anyone else could help gather the watermint. Her eye caught Dapperleap, lazily streching in the sunhigh warmth. She walked over to Dapperleap, and told him about what she was thinking about. Dapperleap stood up, looking happy to have something to do and started trotting out the camp. On the way towards the river, Nettlepaw explained that water mint was a leafy plant with white, fuzzy flowers growing on it. They were supposed to collect the leaves of the plant and bring back as much as possible, preferably not damaged or bitten on. Laughing at her own joke, Nettlepaw slipped, straight into the path of the fast flowing river. |

DapperLeap was happy to go on the little outing with Nettlepaw to find watermint. Dapper kept looking along the rivers edge for the fuzzy and leafy plant, his tail calmly but happily swishing behind him. |

Nettlepaw was numb with shock... the raging river just a few tail lengths away... She knew in her state she would drown... |

Nettlepaw's paws flailed helplessly on the slick mud while she saw her short life flash before her eyes. Her mother, her apprenticeship, her mentor... being ripped away from her. Oh starclan, why are you being so cruel? |

The watermint was low, and what they had was shrivelled or broken, so Bonesong had gone out to collect some. It seemed that Nettlepaw and Dapperleap were collecting some, but an extra set of paws wouldn't hurt. One moment, everything was calm, the next, one of her two apprentices was being washed away. Nettlepaw had never learnt how to swim! Leaping into the raging river, the white medicine cat grabbed her by the scruff and halled her out. "Right, what did I tell you about going near the river without knowing how to swim? Dapperleap! Take Nettlepaw back to my den!" The call came, aimed at the dappled warrior. |

DapperLeap rushed to the rivers edge, he grabbed the small Nettlepaw from Bonesong and as quick as he could brought her back to the camp and into the medicine den. "Oh Starclan I'm so sorry I didn't notice earlier!" Dapper said as he laid Nettlepaw down. |

The white medicine cat had noticed a few herbs on the way back to camp, and gathered them. The medicine cat apprentices would need to learn how to swim soon, especially since the half-moon gathering was soon. The three of them would have to cross the river to get to the moonstone. Dropping the assortment of herbs gathered in front of Nightpaw, signalling with her tail to sort them, and grabbed a poppy head. "She'll be fine, she just needs to recover from the shock." Bonesong informed the worried Dapperleap. Now massaging Nettlepaw's chest, causing them to cough up water, the white tabby passed them the poppy seeds. Her apprentice would know what to do. |

DapperLeap nodded but sat at the entrance of the med den, he was still worried about the small apprentice but he didn't want to get into the other medicine cats way. |
