I think dwarfism should have multiple ways of appearing. My favourite would be old age breeding and/or spontaneous, but it would also be neat to see a genetic dwarfism.
There's a huge number of ways Dwarfisim is caused in the real world so having multiple possibilities would add a feeling of realness to the mutation in game, and things like spontaneous would make it a fun surprise to have happen randomly!

I think another possible fun route would be having it appear when you breed a runt to a runt. So if there were something like three routes each with decreasing odds in order like;
1. Runt x Runt (making the dwarfisim "genetic" smallness without being as common as the genetic trait for something like brachy)
2. Breeding old wolves, as this is sensible and could give an increased likelihood of "spontaneous" dwarfisim
3. Pure spontaneity to add the fun to the randomness of mutations!

EXCITED FOR DWARFISM!! I chose older wolf breeding but as long as its here I will love it!!! I don't really think I want it to be spontaneous generation cause 1. thats hard and 2. thats not how it happens in real life. EXCITED THO!!

ooo news on dwarfism. im not exactly thrilled with the direction of the poll to be honest though.

i would prefer if it was spontaneous (with applicable item boosts) and didnt have a requirement like a runt puppy or other condition that might make breeding for it exceptionally difficult. (like would it have to roll on top of a runt being rolled, which is already a less chance?) i might warm up to the idea if it doesn't hinge on you rolling a litter with a largest and runt first, and a runt dwarf could be a separate roll.

(another choice would be genetic, i went against this though because on account of how valueless alb/mela/brachy-especially brachy- has become because theyre genetic and WD can easily show you genes. But if genetics could be worked into it without sacrificing worth i may like a spontaneous/genetic combo.)
