"I suppose to others our traditions may be strange or interesting," narmada chuckled softly.

in response to vera's question, the wolf took a moment to say anything. she let out a sigh and looked up at the moon, "that may be too strong of a statement. it is not that I didn't wish to be a shaman, I just never saw it in my path. while i was more pious than my other packmates and new how to heal, there is more to being a shaman that i don't even know how to describe." she waited a breath before adding, much softer, "i fear that i am a healer only parading as a shaman to keep the others from panicking."

the shaman let out an amused chuckle, "I'm not sure if another pack's healer would be able to assist me and i am sadly not familiar with what a 'ems' is," she replied in a lighter tone, "I'm afraid my confliction is a spiritual one." she turned to the sky, "i thought by now they would send a vision or perhaps at least a sign to reassure me but the stars have been silent."

"my never calm mind?" narmada repeated before laughing, "you sound like saraswati. but i suppose the both of you aren't wrong." she looked back down from the sky to look ahead. the pair had now reached the lake and soon, the pack den. "when i mean the stars, i mean our ancestors. sea wolves believe that after we pass, we join those before us in the sea of stars in the night sky. there, we are free to hunt, chat, and play freely, as well as watch over those still living," she explained, "we also get to meet the mother of pearl. she is the queen of the sea of stars and sea wolves, and the one who led our first ancestors to the coast."

"i'm glad you find it so," narmada smiled at vera. hopefully, it was visible through the herbs. "do you have any spiritual beliefs? or the locals here?" she asked as she padded by the lake shore. she was not only curious but felt bad that she had been rambling for mother of pearl knows how long.

"i see," narmada nodded her head in thought "our beliefs are quite similar then." as the par began to approach the entrance to the den, narmada let out a soft sigh. "thank you for going on this foraging mission with me and teaching me about the local herbs, even though it was late," she said while stopping a few tail lengths away from the den. "please do not mention the fears i mentioned to anyone- only saraswati knows. i fear if another knows, it could spread doubt and fear within the pack. they may believe the mother of pearl had turned her back if their 'shaman' hasn't received so much as a sign yet."
