narmada chuckled at the joke. "we shall not keep you up any longer," the shaman then dipped her head, "goodnight, vera." the wolf then turned to walk inside the shaman's den. nersa also dipped her heads toward vera before following the shaman.

as the early rays of the morning dawn slipped past the mountain peaks, the hunters began to gather outside the cave. there were some from the previous day's hunt, marusudar, vellar, krishna, and meghna, but also some new faces like the two beige colored wolves sitting together. the queen's mate, varuna, was also there to survey and maybe participate in the lesson. as he waited for vera, he spoke with the other hunters, saying words of encouragement to energize them despite the early time.

along with the hunters, were the scouts, who were ready to go on a scouting mission to find the 'swampy woodland' their guest had mentioned earlier. while Kaveri and tansa talked about the plans, vasishta slowly slipped away and looked around the snow for vera, who she knew would be sleeping somewhere in a pile of snow.

once vasishta saw vera, she let out a laugh. "good morning," she said in a joking tone as she walked closer, "I hope your blanket of snow was warm." she playfully pawed some snow that stuck to the other wolf's head and smiled. despite how early it was, vasishta's eyes were bright and energized, perhaps because she got to see her new friend.

vasishta turned her head to shield herself from the flying snow and playfully rolled her eyes when vera was done. "maybe one day I'll have to experience it for myself," the wolf joked before she looked at the spot of smelted snow, "my, i guess it is warm." she smiled before turning to vera. "yes, yes. the hunters are very 'eager'," she said somewhat sarcastically before frowning slightly, "sadly, i cannot join the lesson this time. after yesterday's hunt, it slipped my mind that queen saraswati assigned all the scouts to venture east, past the grasslands, to find the 'swampy' forest." the wolf then flashed a soft smile, "but i will see you later, if you are still staying after sundown."

"you must tell me all about it later," vasishta smiled before turning her head back to check on the other scouts, who were just shout ready to leave. she turned to her friend and dipped her head, "it seems that i must go, goodbye." the wolf then turned away to join the other scouts as they began their descent from the mountain.

the hunters still stood outside the sanctuary, talking. vellar saw vera and turned her head to bark, "i see our mentor is finally awake!" she smiled before joking, "was dawn too early for you?"
