varuna watched carefully as vera attempted to diffuse the situation and keep the other wolves in check.

"one cannot hear the hare if they are too busy boasting about how they will catch it," krishna said sharply before marusudar walked up beside her. the male brushed his tail against her, signalling her to calm down. "all i think krishna means is to be humble, vellar," he said, narrowing his eyes, "let's not be dishonest and claim you sensed that hare. there's a reason vera is teaching us and not you."

vellar snorted, flicking her tail quickly, "I just don't have the patience to teach you all."

varuna let out a chuckle and stepped forward. "perhaps the hunters need to let off some steam and feel the chill of the snow before they are ready to learn," he mused with a smile.

"you cannot be serious. we are not pups." suvi growled, wrinkling her snout before she was met with a wad of snow to the face, kicked up by varuna.

"yes, you're right," he chuckled while suvi pawed at the snow on her face and the others watched in shock, clearly not used to this side of the queen's mate. he then went on to say, "you all are not pups. you all are like irritated adolescents who are ready to start a fight with a rock."

"if you are not ready to learn, throw some snow until you straighten your head," varuna advised before following the other wolf.

meghna, krishna, marusudar, and sarju followed while the other two, vellar and suvi hesitated. vellar let out a huff before eventually following while suvi had to be convinced by a worried look from sarju to catch up.

the other wolves followed into the clearing and waited for vera's next instruction.

suvi looked around, carefully analyzing their surroundings and whipping her head around when she heard the rustle of a branch. vellar on the other hand, looked more bored and yawned, tired from waking up so early.

at the announcement of vera choosing pairs, several of the wolves grimaced. worst so vellar. the only wolf who didn't have a poor reaction was varuna, who seemed excited. the male nodded his head for vera to continue on.
