Make stat and mutation repping possible!

Posted 2020-11-08 16:00:03

I enjoyed the privilege of that feature on lioden to the fullest extent, but I can see why it isn't possible...at least rn.

The economy, in my opinion, isn't stable enough to allow someone to freely make their breeding male the one with everything that's economically desired. There's nothing to do here other than breeding right now!

I am in support of this idea, and I think they may be implementing it later on in the future when the economy stabilizes.

@QueenOfFrowns, That's okay! It's fair if it's not your thing:D

@Malvolio, That's a good point actually, might just be a little too early on for this feature. I wouldn't mind seeing it pop up down the road c:

Support! I dislike investing in something that is going to die. Obviously, the breeding male would still die, but what I meant is his appearance would still live on, which would be an excellent feature to have. If I worked hard to make him handsome by breeding and/or spending SC and/or GC on him it would be discouraging to have him live a few months then die, taking all of the time, energy, and resources I invested in him with him.

@Kat, Yeah I'm the same way xDD I am sooo cheap I hate putting a bunch of currency into customizing wolves unless it's my king/stud that I'm keeping for a long time haha. So to clarify, support for keeping appearance but not for being able to mutie replace type deal?

Update: Thread has been edited to look a bit nicer and describe my suggestion in a more clear and concise way

@Havranek, Would you care to elaborate?

hmm this is another 50/50 suggestion for me. would i be mad if this feature did get implemented? no, definitely not. but i also don't really miss it. now, that is absolutely because of my playstyle. i have always particularly enjoyed the finite nature of lioden. that, one day, my pretty lilac lion will die, and i may not even get a lilac cub from her no matter how hard i try. and then she'll be dead, and there's nothing i can do about that. i strongly agree with unheardsirens point, that there is a more consistent passrate of bases and markings than on lioden. i can reliably breed for tier 2 bases, wheras on lioden? tough luck, my skyward heir may never, ever give me skyward or rosette. obviously this could change as more bases, including special ones (tier 3 bases are currently unattainable it seems) but for now i have very little complaint.

i also feel another point worth bringing up is that, the price for gc? it may never reach the heights of gb's worth on lioden. and thats ok! i feel like currently, the worth for gc is accurately reflecting the current market. so, if i wanted to, right now, i could buy anywhere between 15-20 gc depending on the player. if i sold all my excess carcasses, or decided i was gonna push my stud really hard in sales chat, i could probably get up to 3000 sc and then theoretically buy up to 30 gc. 30 gc is nearly an entire fully customized wolf! with how easily i could buy it from other players, i personally don't feel too resistant to customizing any wolf, even if i may loose their looks one day, because i really don't have to spend my own money. vs how buying gc from other players on ld is more like 'oh, i need to top my count off, or buy an ibf,' and not a reliable source of obtaining lots of gb very quickly.

@dynne, Well put, thank you for the input! Very true, perhaps that's what I'm most concerned about with how bad the pass rates are on Lioden. If Tier III and Special bases are anything like that when they're released, I would be pretty upset if I never managed to pass the base onto a pup in one breeder male's lifetime. But maybe that's a suggestion for another day when they're actually in game ^_^

No support from me.

The current system allows for there to actually be some turnover in the top / most popular studs, so that users with those most popular studs have to work and invest just as much as other players to acquire an "heir" if they want to stay top of the pile. Under the proposed system, once someone has a very popular breeding male they can maintain him essentially indefinitely with minimal effort, just porting his genetics over to the heir upon his death, and there'd be much less fluctuation in what top studs look like over time.

In short I think it would make the game easier and more samey, and also a little bit too Lioden-y.
