Make stat and mutation repping possible!

I disagree with the suggestion - I like the current system. I think it's important and realistic. Part of the game is starting again.

Never mind, ignore this. I misunderstood what was said.

@Kat, I think you may have misunderstood me, what I meant is that it works the exact same way as on Lioden. The original wolf's appearance would be passed on, but the new breeder male would be keeping his original stats, level, and heritage, like what happens on Lioden.

Ex.:

Current Breeder male has Pale base and Ice eyes, 300 stats, and is level 2
Replacing Breeder male has Red base and Blue eyes, 500 stats, and is level 4
The new Breeder male, aka Replacing Breeder male, if appearance is kept from the Current Breeder male, has Pale base and Ice eyes, 500 stats, and is level 4.

It's the exact same way as on Lioden aside from the leveling system as that is new to Wolvden to a degree. (more important I should say)

So no one is cheating the system and keeping previous stats, it's just what their replacing breeder male has so it makes zero difference aside from his appearance.

I guess I'm just confused about what you're saying with them becoming "all powerful", because the breeder male would literally just keep what they already had? xD Like I said the only thing carried over from the previous breeding male is appearance

@Glass

Oh OK, I am so sorry I misread a bunch of things, and I have not played Lioden in a long time. Please ignore my comment, that was a misunderstanding on my part! Thank you for the clarification though, I think most of my confusion was I had no played Lioden in a year or two, oops. ^^;

Don't support. I specifically prefer this game's mechanic over lioden's so that people have to think long term about leads and projects and can't simply rep with an heir. When I first joined lioden I was so impressed by some of the high stat beautiful heritageless lions in the game and I imagined how much work it must have been to make them, and then I found out it was all done through repping and my enthusiasm instantly vanished. Where's the challenge when you can just simply copy over generation after generation.

I do not support. I 100% agree with bonibaru #369. The games current system makes it more enjoyable and challenging than lioden. I think it shows dedication to your wolves and the game, instead of just replacing. I’m glad this is not a feature :o)

Support, it's kind of hard to have enthusiasm about custom wolves and important OCs when they just fully disappear in a fairly limited time.

The concerns people have raised in the thread about the breeding economy are fairly understandable, though. An item that has a percentage chance to carry over the genes in breeding would help while not being a guarantee, that might be good here with the gameplay style changes from Lioden. (I'm aware of the crunchy worm, but it only works on lionesses and so has less to do with the guaranteed option for your king, and people bringing up the option in this thread were mentioning it as an option for anyone in the pack)

I do 100% understand why some folks would rather just keep the appearance, but I have to agree with bonibaru and others. The current system allows hard work to be rewarded more as well as helping to keep down the monopoly of some players getting to the top of the leaderboard and just staying there. I like the element of change, challenge, and reward for the time put in.

Also, Wolvden has been much kinder about passing rates for both bases and markings. I think that makes up for the fact that there is no "stat replacing". Also, the fact that more pups in a litter seem far more common so you have a higher chance of getting the combination of base/markings you want.

So currently, I lean toward No Support because I think the current system is much more enjoyable than the LD system with far less 'loopholes' for people to abuse.

Granted, I understand there are quite a few people not wishing to abuse it and I sympathize, but for every person who just wants to keep a certain look for lore reasons, there are just as many eager to use those loopholes.

I actually support this suggestion. As someone who is more geared to lore rather than breeding, I really don't want to have to rework for my lead, as I really, really love her how she is.

Perhaps it's an extra 5 gc to keep your previous leads appearance, and maybe be UNABLE to sex change your lead wolf. Is it unfair- yes. But that stops people from abusing the system as opposed to lets say, getting a free lead wolf sex change
