i've been receiving a lot of amethyst during this event, and have also noticed other gems like diamonds and citrine in the hoards of some groups i'm in. i'd love to know what i can do with them, if anything! 		NixCantDraw

Hullo! Gems originally came from the February Matchmaker event, however amethyst can also be found through encounters in this event. Outside of the event, only a few gems have a use as crafting materials, while most become useless after the February event is over. Currently I think only amethyst and sunstone gems are useful for recipe crafting right now.

I always keep amethyst in my buried hoard because I know they'll come in handy in February.
