Please don't introduce humans as battle-able enemies

that would be super fascinating and a fun addition! i also saw someone on this thread mention we could find special “released” nbws in addition to something like this, and i would love to run into a wolf like that. it would add a super interesting aspect to the game!

humans are involved in wolves lives, even the more remote wolves. there’s a pack where i live that is being actively monitored as the hopeful return of wolves to part of california, where they belong.

Introducing NBW genetics through reintroduced wolves would be a perfect idea!

it would make for an interesting month long event if not a constant thing! you could run into special NBWs and the like!

Hello everyone!

We're posting on this topic to remind everyone once again to keep your responses respectful to all players and on-topic in regard to the original suggestion. Even if you might not agree with someone's views or outlooks, making a post on this forum topic specifically to call out why someone's opinions might be wrong, rather than contributing to the original suggestion with respectful and meaningful input, is not the purpose of the game development forums.

We've once again cleaned up this topic and ask that you please stay respectful with future replies. We would really like to avoid having to lock this thread due to the verging off topic and targeting remarks towards other players, thank you.

Support. I agree with Ryuukokoro, they are making a valid statements. I don't like the appearance of humans in game at all, I would like to have ability to create lore without human-wolves interactions. I would feel extremely uneasy if my wolves would be able to actually battle and kill humans or worse, gather trophies (including meat chunks drop as it seems to drop from various enemies) from them... But if humans will be introduced to the game, I strongly support idea of "turning off" encounters with them.

Support.

I wouldn't want humans as battle encounters in the game. I like the little hints of their presence sprinkled around, and that's more than enough for me, personally.

I wouldn't mind having passive interactions where you encounter abandoned campsites, get new toys like boots or hats or dog toys or other items humans left around or lost, encounter trail cams of researchers for new expressions or pose decors, or even battle encounters that are CAUSED by or CONNECTED to humans, but don't involve fighting the actual human (ex fighting their hunting dog[s] they send to chase after you instead of attacking the hunter directly).

That said, I would not want humans as the actual battle encounter. I already ignore a handful of encounters because they make me feel bad and uncomfortable (the sled dogs being a battle example), I really would rather not have to avoid any more.

If they were something I'd actually have to fight and not just some fringe influence or cause or whatever I'd likely drop the game. Even the thought of getting them as a quest from the snake is kind of upsetting.

I live in Colorado where you can see the effects of negative stigma regarding wolves for yourself, daily. The bill that proffered the reintroduction of missing wolves to our state passed by a 1.82% margin. Wild, huh? Let's help and not hurt the wolves. Keep humans out of any potentially negative wolf-human interactions , please.
