Tweak Trophy Hunting Quest - new suggestions

Hi all!

With the new Quest Update, many new quests have been added. One type that's new are the Trophy Quests! They are:

Medium: Collect 1 Trophy from battling
Hard: Collect 2 Trophies from battling

A number of players have expressed frustration at these quests, as even though we've had a boost to trophy rates in the past, they are still rare and require many battles. I really like these quests! It encourages users to go out and battle, increasing their lead's level and making trophy items more accessable for future crafting and collecting. However I agree that they are too difficult compared to the other quests of their levels.

So the suggestion is this- tweak the quests so that they still encourage players to battle, but aren't as demmanding. After having spoken about it in chat and in this thread, we came up with the following suggestions-

Suggestion 1 - Collect Less
Medium: remove Trophy Quest
Hard: Collect 1 Trophy from battling
Less severe version of the current quests, still encourages users to level up their leads and gather trophies for later crafting uses.

Suggestion 2 - Submit Instead
Medium: remove Trophy Quest / submit 1 trophy
Hard: Submit 1 / 2 trophies
Allow those having difficulty to buy them from other users. Consumes the trophy item meaning the cost & rarity on the TC will likely rise, but users can still gather their own & level their leads.

Suggestion 3 - Any Reward
Medium: Collect any 1 reward from battling
Hard: Collect any 2 rewards from battling
Has a greater allowance for what would complete the quest. Includes meat & SC drops, which are more common drops. Less trophies would be gathered for future crafting, but users would still be encouraged to level their leads.

Suggestion 4 - Remove Entirely
Remove Trophy quests entirely
If all else fails, removing the quests entirely would fix the reliance on RNG. There have been a couple of users asking that this be the case, but most seem to want one of or a slightly different version of the sugestions above

Suggestion 5 - Up Trophy rate
Increase drop rate for trophies
Helps solve the RNG problem by making trophies easier to come by. It has been increased before, but now that there's another mechanic in the game requiring them it may be good to tweak them again.

Suggestion 6 - Replace with Similar Quests
Change the requirement to something the users can more easily control, such as energy spent in battle or using a certain amount of energy exploring
Replacing the criteria is also a valid option, as it still encourages users to do similar things like levelling their leads or winning battles.

This was based on the input from a number of players in chat and this thread, but I encourage anyone else to add any ideas! That way we can get a good gague of how the user base feels. A combonation of these could also work, as long as they weren't as difficult as the original quests.

I understand the quest system is still being adjusted, and hope we can use the early days to make it more balanced =)

I agree and support. I spent literally all day for the last 2 days trying to complete the medium and hard trophies quests I got and nothing even though I battled all day. Today they reset, got new ones and I got another med trophy quest and I got It first battle. It's kinda frustrating how unpredictable it is tbh.

I dont mind hard quests being you know hard... but not everyone can spend all day checking in for a trophy so I dont think they should be in the medium slot more so since a 'hard' quest is give the raccoon 9 items which is frankly rather easy if you have mutiple teams of decent hunters/collect food in explore?

I personally would be happy for both the collect 1 and collect 2 trophies to both be in hard and a chance for either of them. That way people can still do the med quests with out getting a potential all day commitment of trophy hunting

As a new player, i have been busy 12hours already and my medium quest is to find one trophy… needless to say, i haven)t found any while i fought every lv 5+ i saw. it sucks.
I absolutely love the idea of 1 being a hard quest tho! but fir a new player this just feels impossible and (for me) takes a lot of fun out of the game

I feel like the change suggested makes a lot of sense.  I had the Medium difficulty "1 Trophy" quest yesterday, and having spent most of the day online, I was unable to get one trophy drop.  The time consumed for trying to get 1 trophy (and failing) felt far greater than the time it takes to submit several fish, complete 3 scouts, etc.

I feel like the 2 trophy quest should be removed entirely, to be perfectly honest. I wouldn't be as frustrated with the 1 trophy quest, even if I really don't like it, as long as it was labelled as a hard quest instead. It can take anywhere from 2 minutes to multiple days to get a trophy, and that's way too RNG-based for my liking. (Finding trophies rarely is fine, but having a daily quest for it? Yeah, no thanks.)

I was going to propose the same thing after commenting about it in the Developer Update thread.

I'm okay with the 1 trophy quest considering that even if RNG doesn't favor me that day, I still have 2 other quests to complete and get SC. I don't think the quest should be removed. It's a good challenge.

But getting a single trophy (unless you are incredibly lucky) requires spending a lot of energy battling and looking for opponents, requires using healing salves to heal you so you can battle as much enemies as possible and maybe even lucky feet to increase your chances of winning.

Considering the effort it requires, I think it can't be considered a medium quest, especially when some of the hard quest are way easier.

Asking for 2 trophies is really too much, so I agree with removing the 2 trophies one and move the single trophy in the hard category.

Yeah, I agree as well. Trophy hunting is extremely demanding and if you have other things to do IRL and can't spend the whole day exploring, it's quite impossible to get 2 trophies within 24 hours.

I find all this feedback hardly convincing considering I usually get 5-8 trophies daily just by actively spending energy on battles against level 15-25 enemies for stat boost without guarana. And the second trophy of the day usually drops 4-6 hours after rolling over with exhausted lead. The last day I failed to collect at least 2 trophies was July 6th when I collected actually none so there goes the drop chance.

The only factor affecting trophy drop chance is the lead's level and my lead's been 20 since the trophy drop adjustments update. There's been claims that fighting level 5+ enemies trophies haven't been found while I get them so casually fighting only level 15+ ones. But your lead's levels are quite lower. Is it possible that your trophy drop rates are drastically lower? I checked 2 different samples in my user logs containing 100 won battles and found 10 trophies dropped in each sample so I assume trophy drop chance for level 20 leads is roughly 10%. What about yours?

Maybe there needs to be some trophy drop chance or questing adjustment for lower level leads? I wouldn't like it to be affected for level 20 leads because this quest is really relaxing to me.

Kind of support? Lock the quest off for non level 20 leads! 20's should be able to get it since they have the highest chance.

I have found quite literally 2 trophies in the last week... 2. Both yesterday and I battle enemies between level 5 and my leads current (14) quite often throughout the day. So either the drop rate for non level 20 is really low, the highest chance is with the highest level enemies (Which low levels cant fight) or you are just REALLY lucky or maybe a combo of them. I got a med and hard trophy quest at the same time and they actually auto reset since I couldn't find any after 2 days.

On top of that not everyone can spend all day checking every hour to use their energy so either there needs to be a boost to the drops for everyone or it needs to be locked for low levels becuase I have been here rather often recently and the chat has been constantly talking about how they are sturggling to get the trophy quests done, many of whom have spent all day on it and many who have low level leads. I am only currently able to spend all day here while multitasking my course work but when I start doing actual work experience/apprenticeships/a job that can't happen other than the 5 seconds it takes to reset my hunt or herb every hour.

It's really hard for a hard quest for me and many others but I could cope with it since it is a hard quest slot but it should not be in the med slot imo. Not for low level players at minimum
