Lovelsce leapt to the side startled. "you almost gave me a heart attack!". Lovelace felt releaved seeing a familiar face "there's soemthing else here other than us and that carcass, I feel like whatever took out that elk will be back for it soon" she said while looking around paranoid."we should go, i dont wanna fight something that's probably 3 times our size".
Wraith jolted awake and looked very much frightened. His heart could be felt pounding and his breathing heavy as he stared at nothing in particular, seemingly trying to calm his nerves and heartbeat. Once he got over the daze he lifted his head to look around. 'What's wrong? Are we here?' He searched around for everyone and noticed that the two others were gone. 'Where are they?! Did something happen?' He was speaking to Cannibal through telepathy.
Astrid nodded and sniffed the air. But instead of leading on they froze. 'Oh no.' They growled at themselves and sighed. "I lost their scents. But give me a moment I may be able to pick their voices or paw steps." They leaned downward first and listened but didn't get anything. 'They must have stopped.' They then picked up their head and listened for voices. they hear them faintly and started leading towards them. "Come on. They're not far but we should hurry."
Lovelace quickly followed Astrid so she wont be left behind. "yes I dont want to stay in this place any longer". Lovelace then turned around and walked back to the carcass, "but while we're here we sould tear off some chunks and bring some of this back ,its not everyday you stumble upon free food". Lovelace then tore off one of the hind legs of the elk and started walking. "you should bring some too".
Astrid stared at Lovelace in horror. "No offense...but are you crazy!? We just said that there is something off about this area and that carcass and you want to bring some of it along? What if it has some kind of poison or what if the creature that killed that gets angry at use for taking its food?" They darted over and snatched the food from the the female, placing it back near the rest of the remnants. "Now lets go. We will find more food when we have gotten to safety."
Lovelace walked disappointedly "okay let's get out of here then". lovelace started following astrid staying a few paces behind hoping to see a rabbit to attempt to catch it. lovelace was attempting to find a way to justify her leaving the group in the begining. "I was just trying to justify leaving you all and maybe if I brought something back you all wouldn't be upset". she said while having her ears pinned in shame
Astrid stopped abruptly and swiftly spun around to face Lovelace. "Now listen here. You wondered off because you smelt food and you wanted to bring some back. You are kind for that and I am grateful for the offer. But you also got us good information on a new threat that could be around here. That...is even more valuable." they looked serious and their pupils had narrowed into slits out of anger. Though it wasn't anger about the female wondering off, it was anger made by the thought that the female felt bad or was judging herself.
Lovelace looked stunned and confused someone would not be upset for her behavior. "wait so your're not upset because I almost dragged both of us into danger and the rest of the group". lovelace then perked up and slowly started wagging her tail "well im sorry in advance if you are". she then confidently started troting off into a random direction not too fast in case she was going in the wrong direction. "well if we want to make it before it gets dark we should hurry up".
A smile tugged at the edge of Astrid's mouth as they turn to Lovelace. "This way." They started off in the opposite direction as her. "And don't act so preppy. Solis may not be too happy to find out that you had wandered off and discovered something this big. And Wraith will likely be having a panic attack when he finds out we are gone."
Wraith was indeed having a panic attack. His mind was racing with what could have happened to the others. He didn't like how long they've been gone and was starting to want to go after them.
Lovelace laughed and turned around "oh right wrong direction". She then started following Astrid and cought up to them. "of course solis will be a stick in the mud about it, he's always so serious. He should be glad we discovered a potential threat nearby so everyone knows about it, but I sorta get it I wondered off and could've gotten killed by said threat.". She then sighed and tried to look like she got her ear chewed off by Astrid the whole walk back as they got closer to the group.
Astrid only rolled their eyes slightly and chuckled softly. "Yeah, he can be. But I'll try to make it look as if I am mad at you." They put on a serious face and frowned, looking irritated and unhappy. They could smell the others now and moved some bushes, finding them all looking worried. "We're fine. I got her back. But we did find something out. There is a threat in these wolves, something larger than any of us from the looks of the carcass we found."
Wraiths ears perked seeing the others and he half-rolled half-jumped from Cannibals back. "I w-as so wor-rie-d abo-ut you tw-o!" He still looked tired and his stomach could be heard grumbling.
