link for the original post, just first bit of data.
Disclaimer: This data is based on percentage of random mutations in wolves overall. To find a true rate at which random mutations are bred, the data must cover bred wolves only. This covers all wolves in randomly selected packs. This is also a small sample size and needs further data to be truly solid.

Back at it again with my extremely rough estimate for those wondering in what ballpark the possibility of a random mutation is. This new data is accompanying the old data, new taken 12/31 and old taken 12/28. Here are the basics of what the data shows:
- I would like to correct previous data: there is not a .04% chance any given wolf will have a random mutation, there is about a .04% change any given pack at any given time will have a random mutie.
- Out of the 9196 wolves surveyed, 8 had random mutations.
- 6 of the random muties had mothers whose fertility could not be known due to them no longer being present online, but the other 2 had mothers with average fertility.
- Again, none of these wolves were at risk for death. Those that had lethal mutations were immortal.
- The data shows that you will have a random mutie in your pack about every 1150 wolves.
Some more nitty gritty details for the more statistically inclined:
- According to both data sets, 100% of the mothers who are still alive and have random mutations have average fertility.
- There was one pack with 2 random muties, both conjoined twins and both with undetermined fertility mothers.
- The average for amount of wolves in a pack was 45.75, and all packs with random muties in them had over this amount of wolves in them with the interesting exception of the pack with 2 muties who had a number of wolves firmly below the average.
- The median of wolves per pack was 28. All packs with random muties in the data set have over this amount of wolves in their pack.
- No pack with 69 wolves in it has been shown to have any random muties.

Cool. My stud hasn't had many pups, but I found it odd that he's had one spontaneous deaf pup and one set of twins. 2 unusual births out of 38 born. Deaf pup's mom was also average fertility.
