Raven Clan
The Way of the Raven
Few have ever been able to call the wilds of the mountains home. The stark peaks, unforgiving ice and beating sun were more than enough to chase away the mildest and weakest of wolves to greener pastures and safer footing. But the Ancients, despite the odds, found a way to survive where no one else could. Some say they were born of the stone itself, clawing their way from the crevices and cracks to shake their fur in the light of a new dawn. Others whisper of migrating packs chased from their homes to the bleakness of the mountains, where no other wolf threatened to bite at their throats. All that is known for certain is that the Raven guided the Ancients to the mountain and in turn, they sought its wisdom for eons to come.
When the Great War divided the mountain clan into two, the Way of the Raven was lost. Brother fought sister, mother fought child, Alpha fought Alpha until the pack was split in twain and forced to find their own ways in the mountains. But none could have expected that one day, the First Bloods of either pack would surrender their hearts to one another. And in turn, birth a new generation to bind the packs together again.
It is said that on the day Hutsah was born, the only surviving pup of her litter, a raven kept watch over her nest and refused to budge until the pup was strong enough to stand on her own paws. Even then as she grew, the only First Blood of her generation, a raven was almost always spotted nearby, watching her with shiny eyes. Her birth brought an unexpected peace to the clans and on the day of her Ascension, binding the mountain clans together once more into one, a raven swooped three times above her head before landing on her shoulders. Taken as an omen, the mountain clans vowed themselves once again to the Way of the Raven.
