The Mountain Canines
Currently In year 10 of the pack, led by the Second ever leader, Coeus.
- Their name was given to them by a nearby small town in Nulato, Alaska with a population of around 250. The researchers in the park they lived in gave them this name for their unusual life in the mountains.
-The pack's movements rarely change, with the pack inhabiting the mountain and only leaving during the spring and early to late summer to hunt, explore, and for mama wolves to have their pups.
-The pack lives in the Innoko National Wildlife Refuge. Years before leaving to start his pack, Nanouk lived in the Nulato Hills range. His father led it and eventually chased him out. (the natural order of things yk)
-The refuge is surrounded by the Yukon River to the west and the Innoko River that runs right through it.
-The below caves: The below caves are the caves that run for miles under the range. There is barely any light and water puddles flood a few of the tunnels. They can be accessed by small cracks or holes in the cave walls.
-Nulato
-Yukon River
-Innoko River
Era of Beginning; Nanouk (1/13/24 - 7/4/24)
He led peacefully with a beating heart and simply enjoyed company. The pack experienced an extreme loss of prey in usual winters and many pups died. Nanouk was loved and well-respected by most.
Any pups born in this time were named what their mothers wanted.
Era of the Stone: Coeus (7/4/24 - )
Coeus was a complicated wolf with a tendency for manipulativeness. In his earliest year of leadership, his pack planned to overthrow him. Any pups in this time were named after what they looked like/what their parents wanted them to be named.)
Hunting parties with wolves above 5 years or more must be disbanded and given new wolves.
Females can only be bred once they are 2 years old (might have some exceptions/I decide what the exceptions are)
Any wolves who join the pack and aren't bred in must socialize with the leader.
Roles are decided by which clan you belong to. (what clan a wolf is in is dependent on their base color)
Each clan will have a monarch couple. The monarch couple will either be the oldest, strongest, or the prettiest. They are decided by the leader.
Each clan usually isn't related by blood but can be joined from within. Inbreeding is frowned upon but normally no circumstances will arise.
About the Pack
-The Mountain Canines was started by a snow-pelted wolf, Nanouk, who led his mate and newly-born kits into a mountain opening. The mountain was like an anthill, tunnels small and large filling the pinnacle. Over time his pups grew up and found other wolves, expanding the pack. His mate took to crafting a carefully made map on a cave wall. It contained all the major tunnels and the caves they led to. It also showcased the small randomly placed cracks in the mountain that led to other tunnels that went down for miles and could be used to travel underground.- Their name was given to them by a nearby small town in Nulato, Alaska with a population of around 250. The researchers in the park they lived in gave them this name for their unusual life in the mountains.
-The pack's movements rarely change, with the pack inhabiting the mountain and only leaving during the spring and early to late summer to hunt, explore, and for mama wolves to have their pups.
About the Lands
Nearby is "Nulato Hills". The largest mountain in Nulato Hills is called by locals, Peak 4030 and called by the wolf packs around it "La rouge lune" (meaning "the red moon" in Koyukon, the native language of the locals.)-The pack lives in the Innoko National Wildlife Refuge. Years before leaving to start his pack, Nanouk lived in the Nulato Hills range. His father led it and eventually chased him out. (the natural order of things yk)
