Mossy Logs Pack
Birch and her siblings were raised by their father, struggling to help his 4 boys and 1 girl survive. Being the only girl in her litter was not easy, but being the second biggest helped.
As she grew, Birch became more and more certain that she wanted to lead a pack someday. A strong, healthy pack.
When Birch was almost a yearling, her father died to hunters in a tragic accident. Birch saw the whole thing while she was helping him hunt, and still has a bullet lodged in her front leg.
After this, She and her older brother, Crow, who had always helped her father, took on the roles of parents to raise their siblings. After a long night of discussion a month and a half later, Birch bid her brothers farewell and set off to start her own pack.
She never saw them again.
On her way out, she saw her good friend Maple, out on her own. She had been kicked out of her natal pack because her parents had ¨ Too many pups to take care of¨ and ¨She was a waste of time¨. Birch wasted not even a second on taking Maple in to start a pack together. They wandered out of the mountains, through the grasslands, and into the forest they decided to call home, with the help of the magical wolf Tala. They met Willow, and together they formed the Mossy Logs Pack. Growig the family (both biological and not), raising pups, and taking in wolves.
They will never forget their past, but Birch and Maple continue, driven to be the best they can.
And as for Birch, she loves playing with her pack, lounging in the sun, exploring, and watching over the pups.
But she is, always has been, and always will be, driven by her father´s favorite saying, his last words.
¨Carry on.¨
Carry on, carry on, carry on.
Every night, she howls his name to the wolf star. He will never be forgotten. And as Birch whispers his tale to the pups, their eyes gleam with excitement.
Carry on, carry on, carry on.
One day, a few years after her pack began to thrive and shortly after a mass extinction event that took out almost everyone, Birch was wandering through the Riparian Woodland. She found a pup, barely even weaned, crying in the grass. She wasted not even a second in taking this pup back to her back. As she defended her, she realized that she had a genetic mutation in the form of patches, something she had never seen before. After taking the pp to Gene and learning that she was not a carrier and was safe, this pup was granted the name Betula. Birch grew fonder and fonder of this little pup every day until she was an adolescent, and later, an adult. Birch decided right then and there who the heiress to the pack would be when she passed. A loving, precise, talented wolf who was always looking out for others and caring for her pups. Betual was also an excellent hunter. She had many roles, but as Birch aged, she found comfort in knowing who the heiress to her beloved pack would be.
As Birch began to recover from this mass extinction and focus more on herself, she also began to reflect more. She has several wonderful children, and, as of recently, a wonderful mate, Elm. She has also reconnected with one of her old friends, Pine. She had more mentors and even a deaf pup of hers as a scout. Life was going well.
But one night, she had a vision. Birch woke up, panting. She had seen Pine´s downfall. And with it, the rest of the pack began to crumble. Her pups became distant and were unable to make friends or do anything. Birch had been shattered in grief and so had Maple. Pups were dying without their greatest pupsitter. And, pack life itself managed to mysteriously crumble for no reason. When Birch awoke, she could feel her Father´s presence over her and knew it had been a vision. She went straight to the herbalist and asked about the ancient cure, making a wolf immortal. Cedar, the herbalist, said that it would cost 20
to buy all of the herbs, as they were only grown in the desert, glacier, and rainforest, biomes that were hard to access. She began selling belongings she had worked hard to collect, and finally, with Pine´s permission, she was given the antidote, and became immortal. Now, she would love and live forever, and not only would Birch never lose her dear friend, but her pack, her pride and joy, was safe again.
Birch stared down at her pack in disbelief. She had been the leader for more than 2 years and she was so proud of what this pack was becoming. Her mate Elm was so supportive and the pack was thriving. She was so proud, and although amusement items were scarce, they were scraping by. She loved all of her back. Her first pups had mates now, and see was a grandmother. She loved watching her pack soclailize, especially Betual and her mate Lilian.
