Lightning Strike Pack
Lighting Strike Pack was named after Lola (the founder of the pack) was traveling and saw lightning strike the ground in the distance in front of her. The lightning to Lola was pretty as well as terrifying as it danced across the earth in the storm. To her, it reminded her of strength and hope and the fire she had inside her to found and build a pack that her descendants can be proud of. Lightning Strike Pack's tale of how the lightning strikes came to be and why they strike now:
Before storms were a thing, the world was peaceful and the only rain came from brief rain showers. There wasn't a whole lot of conflict apart from the traditional conflict of predator and prey. During this time there was a wolf with silvery-white fur and amber eyes. His original name is unknown to the pack to this day but they called him Lightning for a reason that will soon be revealed.
This wolf was part of a pack that was full of trackers and sharp senses in order to hunt in all sorts of weather. They weren't always successful like most packs but that didn't bother them. In fact, due to their sharp senses, they can detect intruders to their territory much more easily than most. One day, Lightning was searching for a rabbit or two to take back to his pack when he came across a new scent trail.
He quickly identified the scent as another wolf and began to follow the scent. It was pack custom to chase out any intruders that could be a threat to the pack. The scent trail led him to a small cave and he slowed down his pace, approaching carefully. No one really knows exactly what happened when the two wolves first encountered each other, but what is known is that Lightning took a liking to a wolf named Thunder.
Thunder was a dark gray lone wolf with blue eyes and he was looking for a pack. Lightning decided to try and take Thunder to his pack to see if his pack will let him join. Unfortunately, Lightning's pack refused to let Thunder join and chased the poor wolf out of their territory with bad injuries.
Lightning was distraught and eventually decided to go after Thunder. He howled night after night in order to communicate with Thunder. He hoped he could catch up with the wolf and they can form their own pack. Thunder didn't often howl back but when he did, his howls echoed through the forest and caused prey animals to freeze in fear. Likewise, Lightning's determined traveling throughout the day and night, only resting when he had to, caused his fur to begin to light the way. Soon as Lightning howled to communicate with Thunder, a bright jagged light will flash through the skies along with Thunder's answering howl.
To this day, according to the elder members of the pack, Lightning is still looking for Thunder to this day. Each storm that brings rain and life also brings the pained howls of Lightning and Thunder as they communicate with each other. That is how the wolves of Lightning Strike Pack learn to respect the lighting and live by the way of not turning away wolves that want to join. After all, a new friend is more than likely a good thing for the pack even if a new friend can bring some difficulties from time to time.
