Echo watches over her wolves, pride gleaming in her gray eyes, her mate Coal tossels with his two pups Oaklin and Asher.
A distant thought came over her .. . . *Coal may be my mate but in time it will be his job to pass his genes through every wolf. His curse, or blessing from the ancient ones. Such a dumb wish to place onto himself . . . not only is it his burden to bear but also mine.*

Echo decides thats she will try anything to lift the curse off of her mate.
Echo doesn't know how to feel as she gets the news that one of her close and most trusted friends is expecting pups . .. by
Coal.
Heart drops to her paws as the realization hit that soon theana will have pups with Coal...
She walks over to her packmate Wayfer he teaches Echos youngest son Oaklin how to stalk efficiently,"I think i'm going to have to let Coal go so he is no longer my mate." Her throat closed up as she choked out the last words. Wayfer says nothing but watches intently as the young pup attempts to pounce a butterfly poor pup he is a rabbit hair away. She turns away to go find Theana just before she leaves he calls out to her softly"Don't give up hope just yet."
All the wolves of the Dutchensen pack howl with dismay as the mourn the loss of six of their puppies. The grieving mothers Miss Darling and Theana howl the loudest and are consoled by their fellow pack mates.
The wolves of dutchensen pack all crowd around wagging their tails as they all say goodbye to their fellow packmate Lily.With a final nod from her teachers and peers and a respectful tail wag from her Leader the wolves all join together for one last howl.
Cola mourns the death of her pup Mangotine holding the rest of her litter close.
Echo gives her mate the death look her fur beginning to spike up as he presents his new three wolves he so carefully hid from
her. Coal watches his leader carefully as she watches the pups tussle on the ground.
Her eyes find their way back up to him more narrow than hes ever seen them"You know we don't have that many supplies left . .. and yet you go behind my back. and your ENTIRE pack to have pups?" she snarls Coals ears drop and tail tucked between his legs at the intensity of his leaders rage. "Please let them stay ill hunt more . . i-ill train them no one has to take care of them. I can do it!" He slowly begins to rise back up"How? You have three more pups on the way? Do you also take the responsibility to take care of them as well?" Echo growls... her tail raised high, Coal wines and lowers himself back down. Theana walks over cautiously and beacons the pups to follow her to the other side of the den grounds. with a small wag of her tail and a warning look to Coal she shoves the pups to walk faster and she trots over to Choby.
Coal doesn't dare to look at his leader . . . "Please let the stay . .. ill take any punishment you give to me as long as they can stay."
Echo glares at him her teeth bared . . ."if only you had the same loyalty to me as you do to them." With a sharp huff she leaves him fur still raised. Echo disappears into her den and flops carefully onto the den floor aware of her belly that holds the pups fathered by the wolf she thought she can love forever. "Please sky wolves let his curse lift before he hurts anyone else . . ."
