The Moonrose Guard

Moon Roses are a special flower which only bloom during the full moon, about three days a month, even in the dead of winter. They are the color of the Moon, white and shimmering with a scent that is unique for each animal that smells them. They are used by herbalists to craft a potion of wisdom, granting whichever animal drinks it unequaled intelligence and forethought.

Over time, whispers of the Roses and the effects of different moons began to spread like lightning through a storm. A Blue Moon would turn the Roses pale blue and grant immortality while a Blood Moon would turn them flame colored and grant strength that made even the mighty Grizzly Bear seem weak in comparison.

Wars had been fought over the Roses, the loss of life was staggering. Finally the Gods appointed a wolf called Starlight as Guardian, a protector for the Roses against other animals for his heart didn't know greed. Starlight and his descendants must always guard the Roses, which bloom in a different place every three years, and so their journeys will be endless but to anger the Gods is never wise....
