Re, a drop of golden sun...
Sunlight, the ambassador of Ra. He came from a different plane of existence, one where the Egyptian gods ruled. There, he was something unexplainable... energy? A spirit? But, from what he remembered, they could turn into the wildest and most fascinating animals. Elephants, tigers, iguanas, and weasels. Basilisks, kangaroos, hawks, and narwhals. Anything that Ra could imagine, they could turn into. Sunlight stood next to Ra, in his most favored form- the wolf. They has incredible stamina, and could run miles nonstop. They had a unique language and diverse pelts. They had families and cared for their elders. Sunlight looked up to that, believing that, instead of a hawk, a beetle, a lion, or a snake, Ra's creature should be the wolf. Now, Sunlight had always been on Ra's good side. He was the co-conductor of the sun chariot, able to see the light that basks the world in warmth, and the dusk where night and day meet. He thought, because he was so looked up to, he could get away with this demand.
"NO!" boomed the voice of Ra, outraged that his favorite comrade had demanded this of him. She released Sekhmet- a blood-thirsty lion who would punish anyone who defies Ra. Fleeing in terror, Sunlight soon realized no where in the sun god's palace, nor anywhere in the skies were safe for him. He had only one choice- to descend down to the land below. Not knowing what would happen, he morphed into a wolf, and jumped.
A searing pain met him, like his skin was being stripped of. Sunlight's eyes watered and he tried to change form, maybe into something that could fly. He was shocked to see he couldn't. Only later, he realized that not his skin had been burned away, but rather his essence. Now, he was just a wolf. A wolf about to be a pancake.
