Sunshine over the Fields
After discussing with her Pack one day, Triticum came to the conclusion that perhaps it was time for her to move on. She was a strong wolf who came from a pack of strong wolves - they felt it'd be a shame if she didn't carry it on, and she agreed.
As Triticum wandered, she kept her heart and mind open to most wolves. Like most who wander, it wasn't long before she had come across the now-infamous "Dawnrise Valley". And also, like most, she knew about the rumors of Dawnrise's hospitality in the Valley.
Like all wolves, Gold welcomed Triticum with open paws and encouraged her to relax during her stay at Dawnrise. During her stay, Triticum would watch quietly as the wolves of Dawnrise went about their business. Like most peaceful Packs, there was a steady, simple rhythm to the Dawnrise life that Triticum couldn't help but admire.
But...as time went on, she could see some worrying things start to crop up. Although Storm's Strike was not a problem anymore, some of the more vocal wolves would be loud and rude, picking fights with some of the more calmer individuals. A common fight amongst them was about strength and leadership - although Triticum had never met Robin before, she had gathered by the way the wolves of Dawnrise still talked about him that he was a wolf of great renown and respect, and when he died it seemed to leave a gaping yawn in the heart of Dawnrise.
And now...Gold was getting older, and many wolves were painfully aware. Some were heartbroken to think of it - others were much less respectful, implying that such an old wolf should not lead a Pack. Gold, however, did keep leading Dawnrise until the day of her death.
Samson - Gold's son - although quite old himself now, ended up taking the Leadership role of the Pack after some discussion with his sister, Penny. Penny was slated to become the new leader, but had decided against it to focus on giving birth to a suitable litter - Penny was devastated Gold couldn't be alive to see grandpuppies and felt awful for ignoring her breeding instinct until now.
Triticum watched all of the Gold family drama unfold. Coming from a very strong pack, she understood how important it was to support your Pack Leader, and thus decided - now that Gold was gone and Penny was journeying away - that she would be there to help Samson as much as she could.
With his family mostly gone, Samson appreciated the shoulder to lean on. For the rest of his days, Triticum would be at Samson's side and would shoulder much of the Pack's concerns for the old wolf and the future of Dawnrise.
