Raven grew up in a larger pack filled with beautiful and vibrant coated wolves. Most of them unfortunately didn't like that she came out with a darker complexion and worried she would taint their genetic pool.
Growing up, most of the pups steered clear of her, and any events the pack held she was excluded from. Normally her parents would drop her off by the river instead of with a pupsitter so that she would be away from everyone else.
Thankfully she was resourceful and cautious enough to be ok on her own. One day she was sitting there, amysing herself a stick, and two pups happened by on their way for a swim. When they noticed her, they immediately turned around and started to head back, whispering about how being around her would dull their coats.
Raven had tears in her eyes as she ran away from the pack. Traveling a day, she finally collapsed and sobbed as she tried to think of what she would do now. An hour passed and when her tears dried she came to the decision to find herself a better life and followed her nose right to Hiro and Alou.
When she first found them, she kept her distance for a day, observing them as they interacted. Learning the pack dynamic and seeing that they all treated each other with respect and care.
While she was dozing off, Alou happened to smell her out on one of her patrols. Gently the Alpha female nuzzled Raven and woke her. They talked for a while and Alou reassured Raven that the pack would welcome her, and she agreed to go with her. Alou introduced her to the pack and she was welcomed as one of their own.
