Uansah of Yai

Name means: (pronounced wan-sah) gentle, positive, a lot, pretty/thick fur, good natured, a little. Gives the impression of a kindly and balanced wolf. (LP/ML3.3)

Uansah is a naturally timid pup, who struggles to understand her parents issues. Her pupsitters are her surrogate parents and she mostly follows them around all day.

When she gets older there a few deaths in the pack, leaving her to her own devices as the older wolves around her grieve. She asks her father to become a scout to keep herself occupied, and despite her being young, Yai agrees. Her scout-mate is a solemn slightly older male who just returned from his yearling ceremony named Ou-Ban. Ou-Ban is aloof at first, having just lost his mother to old age, but as both wolves settle into their new role, they converse and become close friends.

Later that year Ou-Ban asks Uansah on a date in a very stilted and formal manner. It turns out he's quite shy about romance and has first asked her parents for permission, which Uansah finds hilarious. After a little awkwardness they agree to go fishing in between scouts. Both wolves find the actual fishing difficult and soon give up, instead talking about their family, pack life, tradition, and scouting until dawn.

Several months pass and though they don't mention it to their packmates, it's quite obvious they're together. Uansah is the happiest she's ever been, and often visits her pupsitters to update them on her life, considering them more her parents than her biological ones.

When Yai is injured she is encouraged to try and form a closer bond with him, but it only serves to stress her out, as Yai is adamant that she will be the next leader. Uansah feels she doesn't have the experience to lead the pack, but thankfully a distant cousin, Yaafsai, has agreed to become her mentor.
