Despite their age, Rhett is an impeccable hunter already, and they haven't come back home without a kill yet. They thrive to earn the praise and respect of their packmates, and already considers the Stonefangs their family.

The thrill of the chase suits Rhett well, as they have quickly grown into one of the fastest wolves of the Stonefangs, resilient even after a long run to the point they often speed ahead to help the older Witkryt if the prey proves a little tougher. The paler Stonefang has been falling short lately, and Rhett is the first to console them after a failed hunt, which has made them grow a little closer.

Felic and Rhett have been talking between hunts today, and as soon as they saw Symone looking their way, they beckoned her over. The two young wolves are concerned about the coming of the winter and how their hunts are failing more often than they don't. Rhett has stressed his concern over the hunters overexerting themselves and getting hurt during a time healing herbs will be much less available.

Symone has taken their requests to heart, and after a brief meeting with the pack, she has agreed to seek out one more wolf to complete the hunting party.

Nobody expected Tern to return so quickly from scouting, much less so with a pup. The wolf made a direct bee-line for Symone upon spotting her, and informed her of the boy they found alone in the taiga of all places. They would not leave him there. For a second the air was tense - and some feared Symone would cast out the pup, but her silence was broken by posing a question to her pack; "He cannot be left unattended, who of you can adopt him?" - Rhett and Witkryt answered.

They weren't expecting to be a father so soon, but even a duty-focused wolf such as Rhett felt the pang of concern and empathy when Willamenah sat so small beside Tern. Thankfully, them and Witkryt were of one mind as both almost bit Symone's hands off to have him, and though they struggle with showing affection, they make for an attentive father, making sure the pup's belly is full, and that he attends his new lessons.

The Stonefangs mourn the loss of Witkryt, though none suffer her absence as keenly as her now widowed bond Rhett and their pup, Willamenah. The two of them have found what strength they could with each other, though the whole pack has made the effort to be there for them as much as they can. It'll be a long winter without Witkryt, but Rhett won't lack for warmth. Hatua speaks to him as often as he can, and Methuselah offers him what counsel he has in the privacy of the Sick Den. The leading couple have repeatedly offered him leave to rest and mourn in peace even if he continues to decline, and even boisterous Buyan and tentative Tern spend much time just sitting by his side, casually licking at his ears or jowls.
