This wolf is immortal! It will never age or die. It cannot be bred or used in roles, or retired into. This wolf has not rolled over today and will not be able to be traded or gifted until its next rollover.
Mask of Keen-Eyed Magpie, or "Magpie" for short, is one of the two alphas of the Pack of Golden Skies. In addition to his alpha duties, he also often wanders off to who knows where, and therefore he accidentally earned the position of lead scout. He is the pair-bonded mate of Field of Sunlit Rye (Rye), and is the first generation alpha bond.
Magpie is a shady and cryptic man whose past is mostly unknown. He guards his troubled history by distracting others with his erratic, slightly terrifying personality, so most only know that he used to be a lone wolf. He makes a living amassing a hoard of trinkets, which he pawns off to other animals in secretive trades. Despite his strange and suspicious behavior, his charm and witty humor easily wooed Rye; though neither actually intended to fall in love, they slowly grew closer as the moons passed, and after an emotional confession to one another, they finally decided to leave their loner lives behind and start a pack of their own.
After an accidental litter, Magpie finds that he loves his little accidents just as much as his mate. After all, they were the first members of he and Rye's pack! Ever since then, Magpie remains entirely devoted to Rye, and he certainly enjoys his life alongside his family (even though half the time he's fucked off doing who knows what). He has amassed a huge collection of bits and bobs, from acorns to bones to shinies and everything in between, and all his Stuff and Things tend to attract curious corvids. The magpie is his namesake, and he is their ruler.
Though he grew old after many moons and eventually passed away overnight on the twenty-second of March, Rye quickly resurrected him by using one of the immortal jellyfish that he'd searched so tirelessly for. Magpie woke again feeling like his old self—young, spry, and healthier than he'd ever been. Granted new life, he was there to hold Rye close and comfort him through the breakdown brought on by Magpie's very brief death. He promises to use the second jellyfish to revive Rye as soon as he follows suit.
