Pack of Golden Skies
Welcome to the Pack of Golden Skies, founded by Field of Sunlit Rye and Mask of Keen-Eyed Magpie. Wolves here migrate between all biomes as they deem fit, never seeming to settle in a specific territory. The blood of the founding lead pair runs through the heart of the pack, and all high positions of the Pack of Golden Skies are to remain interwoven in this web for eternity.
Here, ranks are decided by connection to Rye and Magpie's bloodline. When a lead wolf takes a mate, the chosen mate is to become the head scout. This bonded pair is expected to produce at least one pup to become the lead heir. They may also produce another pup to become the herbalist heir, but this is not required. The breeding male—a direct descendant of the first leading pair—is in charge of growing the pack with any unrelated working wolves, and will also take on the position of the lesser scout. Any leftover royal offspring produced are called betas, and may choose unrelated mates to produce possible future breeding males or herbalists.
All non-royal wolves will be given either the hunter or pupsitter role depending on age/rarity, and may be replaced over time. Unique working wolves may earn the title of "delta wolf". These are valuable wolves who are chosen to cross with other deltas in order to offer genetic diversity to the pack. Delta females may also cross with the breeding male if they have no bond, but this is uncommon. When a delta pair produces offspring with worth, their puppies will either be kept to become future breeder/delta wolves, or they will be raised and chased as dispersals to clear their genetic history. Dispersals must be TII and/or have 3+ non-T0/T1 markings.
No wolves in the pack are allowed to inbreed, and all wolves taken into the pack will be checked for zero lineage before they are allowed to stay (aside from very rare cases, which are not allowed to keep any offspring they produce). Wolves linked to the founding bloodline will be marked with a crown, and wolves that will not breed will be marked with an X. Breeder wolves will be marked with breeding symbols if they are over 300 stat, have a cool/muted/monochrome OR warm/dark base, and have more than three markings. If marked with an infertile symbol, they do not meet this criteria and should not be used for royal breeding. Delta wolves are marked with the same breed/infertile symbols to show if they are pair bonded or not.
NOTE: Wolves who are chased are assumed to become NPCs. They are not actually chased in lore.
