"It's been too long..what's wrong with Badger!? She said..she said that she'd help wipe out that virus..she's just dillydallying around with outsiders! What if it killed that new pack leader that she brought here?!" You overhear Dakushepado as you turn your head, sneaking up and peering into his little den. "She's not doing the right thing.. I truly hope she opens her mind. Ahh, cnitharian wolves..too interested in exploration to stop a fatal virus from wiping out multiple damn packs.." What virus? Is that what Badger was hiding? A fatal virus, he says.. you could've died?! That's why Badger was so worried. Dakushepado sighed "I wonder..if I can catch that new guy, and any others Badger brings here to heal, then I can run studies on them..see just how that stupid Proxy is spreading.."
Capture? 'I have to get the hell outta here..' you think to yourself. You turn around to leave, but Dakushepado was in front of you when you turned. "Hello. I'm assuming you were eavesdropping? Too bad, you already heard my plans for you. Seems like I have no choice but to go through with them." He grinned meanly. You yelp as he tackles you, his teeth at your neck as he attempts to hit your head against the wall to knock you out. You manage to shove him off, sprinting out of the cave and out into the pack's range again, blending in with the rest of the wolves. WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED?! Your heart was racing, a slight amount of blood dripped down from your neck as he actually bit you, not enough to do too much damage. You'd like to speak to Badger about this, but she wouldn't believe you.. You pant for a bit, neck stinging, heart speeding, as a wolf approaches you. "(YWN), right? I know what just happened. I won't let him bother you again." she said silently, only you could barely hear it. "Uh, alright, but who are you exactly..?" you respond. "I'm Buraddo mun. I'm hoping that Dakushepado doesn't bother you again, since you're now considered a threat to him. I don't know what happened..he..snapped. He wants that virus gone way too desperately, and he's now willing to do anything for it, even if it means harming you and anyone else who had symptoms of that virus. I don't know what it's called yet, but when I find out, I'll try to get rid of it the peaceful way." she muttered calmly. "Dakushepado mentioned something called 'Proxy'. I'm guessing that's an abbreviated version of something longer." You twitch your ears. Finally, a peaceful wolf in this pack! "'Proxy'? Sounds like..oh no..he's talking about-- but how?! That virus had been inactive for over a century! You had that virus? Badger cured you I assume. Be careful, though, if you're too active before the salve settles in and gets rid of the virus completely, then you'll still die. By the way, it's called 'Proxynomatus,' spread by volukros animals' bites in the dreamlands. If not treated within 3 days, you kind of...well.. disintegrate into lunar dust. Luckily, you found Badger on time. You would've spread it to your whole pack should you have gone home!" disintegrate into lunar dust? That's a cruel fate.. she's right. You are lucky that you found Badger on time. "Thank you, Buraddo mun. I have to go check out more wolves here, as hesitant as I am after that encounter." You sigh. "No problem! Stay safe and if you see Dakushepado watching you, howl for me and I'll hop in right away!" She yipped. You nod, and you part ways. What a damn day.
