EmberPaws // In the Den

EmberPaws stretcheeed, her tail curling, yawning as she did.
What a fabulous nap!.. Where was everyone? She sniffed in the air, it seemed a little odd. She walked towards the entrance, noticing little claw marks on the wall. Another cat she assumed.

//Den Entrance - Outside
She popped her head just outside. Taking a peek at the outside world. It was a little bright for her tired eyes, but not too much. Her eyes adjusted and she looked around for the other clan members. Camp seemed pretty quite, maybe the others had gone for a hunt?
She took a step outside. Her stomach growled.

Pigeonfeather

"I suppose you're right. If Copper stays wherever you and Silverbloom found for her, I'm sure she'll be okay. I'll help bring her prey to keep her fed if she needs it, and we can check in on her to make sure she's okay, if Stagcall doesn't want her returning. But we definitely need Ravenpaw," he agreed as they made their way back to the meeting location.

Copper

"You... Won't hurt me?" She felt relived, but sad at the same time. If she were to join the group, she would not be needed for healing. It was quite obvious. She never enjoyed hunting or fighting. It was herbs and healing she liked most. She sat down. "So I'm not needed, and your here to tell me that?" She assumed bitterly.

🪶 Kestrelheart

Kestrelheart nodded and followed after Pigeonfeather. She didn't think they were too far away, and she was soon proven correct as the sound of rushing water reached her ears.

She placed her paws on the first rocks leading up, looking up at the waterfall. From here, she could just barely make out the dark hole of an opening behind the water, but it was getting harder to distinguish it as the sun set.

"Ravenpaw! We're leaving, Moonfeather is probably going to talk to Copper now!" she yowled up at the hole, hoping he'd be able to hear her from down there.

🖤 Ravenpaw

Ravenpaw's eyes slowly narrowed at the bitter edge to the young cat's tone during her second sentence.

"That's not what I was trying to say, just relaying messages," he said, his voice lowering a little bit more as his negative feelings only heightened.

Then, he was saved by the familiar sound of Kestrelheart's voice. He didn't need to be told twice. There was nothing more the tall tom wanted than to go home.

"Your friend needs you, come on," he stated, and turned, walking out of the cave.

Copper

Flowing the dark tom out of the cave, she asked, "Are Silverbloom and Moonfeather ok, or are they in trouble because of me?". She knew they had left the others to help her. Waist of time She thought bitterly. Jumping out of the waterfall, she scented some yarrow and swiftly gathered the healing herb for the groups healer.

Pigeonfeather

Pigeonfeather watched the two cats climb out of the waterfall, still marveling at how well hidden the cave was. After collecting the two slightly younger cats with a wave of his tail, he said to the group, "Alright, back to camp, right?"

🖤 Ravenpaw

Ravenpaw paused as he heard the young cat's question, and he sighed softly through his nose. Truthfully, he didn't know the extent of 'trouble', but he had a guess as to how the members of the group now viewed them.

"Well, they are okay, I can tell you that much-" he stopped as his eyes landed on the cats clustered at the bottom of the incline to the cave. Silverbloom wasn't accompanying them.

He wasn't sure how to feel about that. At least he wouldn't get threatened again, he told himself.

Glancing at the cat grabbing some yarrow, his tail tip twitched, and then he continued his path to the other cats.

"We're going home?" he asked quietly, sure that there was a reason the silver she-cat was missing.

Copper

"Moonfeather? Kestralheart said you wanted to talk to me?" She asked through a mouthful of yarrow. She carefully placed down the herb and sat down. What was she going to tell her? They don't want me, do they? There going to ask me to stay here! She told herself, but only showed happiness. The breeze almost blew the yarrow away, and the copper she-cat swiftly caught it. She was still sad she couldn't heal the group if they did want her.

Stagcall

Stagcall was restless, pacing anxiously back and forth, concerned about Silverbloom out there, a feud might happen with her around, or did they stumble something dangerous while on the way to camp? It's already dusk, more dangers will be in the forest as time passes.

"Do you think they'd be alright, rainstrike?" He let out a huff and looked around the camp while waiting for his reply. The unsettling silence causing stagcall to increase his awareness towards the sound made by different creatures around them, not helping either, making the brown tom feeling more uneasy.

Rainstrike

Rainstrike had been sitting patiently at the entrance of the main den, idly observing the few cats still in camp while they awaited the patrol's return. He'd been thinking about what might happen if Moonfeather and Silverbloom chose to abandon their group in favor of that young she-cat rouge. He knew their little remnant of a clan could afford to lose a single cat - but he didn't know the other cats well enough to be confident in what he thought they might choose.

He turned his gaze to his worried leader, "I... I'm certain they'll be fine."

The forest was quiet, he didn't think the patrol would have any reason to be in danger. Many cats had gone, he was confident in his clanmates' ability to protect each other if something did happen. But would they refuse to come back?.. Rainstrike squared his shoulders and lifted his head with determination. For now, he wanted to believe the cats in their group would be loyal.

"Have faith, Stagcall. They will return, we just need to remain patient."
